i have two 780ti Classified under water and i going to  buy two 980 Classified if the water blocks fit  .

get the g1 its totally worth it!!!
I have an ssc version of the 970 and it just gave me constant problems even at stock settings it would downclock and was super hot..
bought a g1 and i am in LOVE!!! ssc couldnt go past 1455mhz im at over 1550mhz with the g1 and NEVER DOWNCLOCKS OR RUNS HOT!
on another note. I do want a classified still when will the stock be available?!??

I think I held EVGA to a higher standard in my head, than they hold themselves to. At least with this generation, I over romanticized how EVGA was going to both handle/market/design the 900 series cards. Here's to hoping that they listen to the *stale sighs* in the forums and start switching things up?

 
I've been hoping the price actually goes down slightly when the actual release hits, but like you I think I'm putting EVGA on a pedestal. Hopefully they're just dropping a bomb, so the actual release price seems that much better (649). Other than a big ego, I'm not sure why they think it's worth $100 (more with shipping since this is a US site) more than say a G1 980 or the MSI 4G. I doubt it'll perform much better if at all.
 
I definitely hope they acknowledge the fact that not one person think it's a fair price, and everyone is echoing the same sentiment that EVGA is beginning to fall. Is that what they want? 
 
EVGA: I am a Canadian customer, and to buy a classified it will cost $960, not including duties. Surely this isn't a fair deal, and while I understand a card like this is a premium item, it's still in the realm of unreasonable. Maybe you could chime in with whatever magic you feel is worth the price difference.
 
Why shouldn't I get a Strix for $670 CAD now over the classified for $785 CAD next week, before taxes and at about half the shipping costs? $26 express from Newegg, $54 from the EVGA site with the possiblity of duties. At least EVGA offers UPS which is superior to what Newegg uses here, but at what cost. Better yet NCIX has it for $660 CAD, and you can choose whatever courier you want with them. It would cost $17.19 for Xpresspost, which is the best service I have around here by far and without fear of duties. My point isn't to whine, but question what makes it worth this?

I wanted this card, but I can't justify spending what will most likely be the price of the 980ti/1080.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll grab one as well and hope I don't regret the huge premium. I wonder if they'll be available right away on Monday or later in the week.

What are people planning on doing for their Classy cards?

I got this same response a few weeks ago, and I think they're only saying that because the card isn't really out yet. Once the card is released, they'll probably make a block then. An EK staff member said on OCN I believe that they'd be making about three variants for most custom cards. Would defeat the purpose of this card for anything but LN2 otherwise and to make a card solely for that would cut out too large a portion of the market.
 
Also looking back, I'm pretty sure it would have cost me about $30 less to get a 780 classy when they came out, so the price isn't far off.
 
I would think if EK doesn't step up that Aqua or Kyro will.
 
Speaking of release, it's Monday! Are you really going to make us wait until Thursday night? I've always heard EVGA was the best at relating to their customer, so hopefully thats true and they let us order today so we can - maybe - have it by Friday.

Classy is available in the US store :P
