Hey,

I bought my card two weeks ago (the 1st) and put in for an RMA on the 8th when it failed. I understand the delay, but I'm definitely nervous now about potential future problems. I keep seeing information about getting the EAR program within the first 30 days of purchase, but I don't see anywhere to actually buy it. Do I have to contact EVGA directly?

Also, considering the delay for RMAs going out right now, will it still ship ground despite going well past the 1-3 business day expectation?

Thanks!

I did, but initially turned it down buying the EAR as there was language about it being available within the first 30 days.

The language is about you have to register your card within 30 days to select the EAR, once you have complete the Registration this is no going back to redo the Registration.

You can do this when to request an RMA:

    EVGA Standard Cross-Ship

EVGA also offers a cross-shipping service. The Standard Cross-Ship differs from our Advanced RMA in several ways. You will be required to pay the full replacement cost of the product we are shipping to you. Once you receive the product, you will be responsible for shipping your defective product to EVGA. Upon receiving your product, without damage, you will receive your collateral in full after 7-10 business days.
    Process details:
    • After an RMA request is approved, you will be required to pay for the full replacement collateral price of your product. Cost of collateral is determined by EVGA.
    • EVGA will ship via ground shipping to you within 1-3 business days. You may pay for expedited shipping at the time of the RMA request, but the 1-3 business day processing time is in addition to shipping.
    • You will then be responsible for shipping your defective product back to EVGA, following our shipping guidelines.
    • Upon receipt of your product, without damage, EVGA will refund the collateral paid in full. The complete refund process may take 7-14 business days.

You have 30 days from purchase date:

"How to add EAR to your product"

"Customers may purchase an EAR plan at the time of registration, if registration is within 30 days of the purchase date and you are the original owner, to take advantage of this premium service. During the registration process, you will be asked if you want to participate in the EAR program. You can then purchase the plan that fits your needs. You may decline purchasing the EAR for your product at the time of registration, you will be able to purchase an EAR anytime within 30 days of the purchase date."

How you go about it after the fact it does not explain the process.........................http://www.evga.com/support/ear/

If you own a 1070 FTW or 1080 FTW, i would ask EVGA if you can still take advantage of the free EAR offer.
