E758 3x SLi Westmere Mod?

I have heard that the EVGA X58 3X SLi (not a classified) Rev 1.1 has to be solder modded in order to run a hex core Xeon. Is this correct? If that is the case, does anyone have a link to the mod? The ones that I have found on Kingpinmodding are all so old there isn't even pictures any more. 
And the ones that I have found don't specifically show anything on the E758 boards. 
 
Any help would be much appreciated.

    If there is a mod, I'll bet it's to make turbo work as it doesn't seem to work with the hexcores except the Extreme versions

    Yea on the non classified it is nativelly supported on the revision 1.2 of my board. However the board I have is revision 1.1. The newest bios, 82, shows more cpu support but of course it doesn't say what cpu's are supported.

    I am running the l5639 (hexcore). I updated the bios to v83

    2x DDR3 1333 4gb at (2:18)
    Zotac gtx650 2gb amp! version
    Xeon l5639 hex core cpu at 2.13ghz
    gigabyte odin pro 1200w (80plus silver)
    1x 3.5" 500gb Western digital harddisk
    1x 3.5" 2TB Hitachi DeskStar
    1x 2.5" 250gb Western Digital harddisk
    1x LG DVD combo
     
    P.S. Now gtx650 2gb changed to 2x hd6850 1gb (HIS ICEq turbo and Unika in crossfire)

     no kidding!!! It is posting and showing up correctly? I read somewhere that it would show up as something else and not use all of the memory modules. IE if running 3 x 2gb it would only show 4gb. Of course all of these forums were probably before the v83 bios was released. 
     
    Is your board the revision 1.1 or 1.2? The revision 1.2 will run the Westmere chips I guess.

    Hi sorry for the refloat. But i recently bought a x58 sli pl 132-e758-rx from bstocks of evga rev 1.1 And i want to know if its compatible with xeon x5650 westmere.

    It should be supported. The x5650 is also westmere based cpu. It is only a l5639 with an higher frequency and more multiplers. I cannot test because I changed my board to rampage iii formula few months ago.

    Ok. Thanks, technical suport says that don t suport it. But ill try it when arrives or probe to return the motherboard.

    Sorry i don't have the xeon yet and i can't test :-( but it seems its only suported on rev1.2 or later an my mobo is 1.1 its necessary make the mod of the two resistors R538 in R539 place.

    Hi! In my rev 1.1 don't work thw xeon x5650. I'll try with an i7 920 and its working fine.

    The x5650 is not working on rev 1.1
