I've just purchased one of these bad boys but I cannot get a second monitor to function.

I have a Viewsonic LCD monitor which plugs in directly by DVI and then I have an old Iiyama LCD which has a VGA cable + DVI adapter.

This set up worked perfectly on my old GeForce 7900 GS.

Can anyone help please?

    Hello vlad06,
Could you verify which DVI ports you are occupying with the monitor and adapter? This card should have a DVI-I(analog) and a DVI-D(digital) port. It is important to remember that the adapter (dvi->vga) will only work with the DVI-I port. With the 7900 GS, the card had 2x DVI-I ports, which may explain why you did not have this issue before.

My problem is that the card won't run them simultaneously. If I plug just the Iiyama VGA in with the DVI-I adapter, it works. Then when I plug in the Viewsonic by DVI-D directly I get no signal. Alternatively if I plug in the Viewsonic first directly by DVI-D and then try adding the Iiyama with the VGA + DVI-I adapter, it gets no signal.

Can you suggest what will work? Why does the card let them work on their own but not simultaneously?

    Thank you

If you navigate to the Nvidia control panel and select the 'Set up multiple displays' tab, does it detect both monitors (1 and 2)?

No it doesn't neither does the Windows one.

    What's wrong with the card?

At this time I would recommend doing a fresh installation of the latest driver from our download page. If you continue to have the same problem with your monitors, go ahead and contact us at 888.881.3842 and we will be more than happy to assist you further with your issue.

Have you verified the monitor works on another system?  Does the monitor only have a VGA port?  Have you tried another DVI to VGA adapter?

I initially downloaded and installed  -337.88 WHQL for Windows Vista 64bit

Do you recommend I upgrade the drivers to 340.43?

Either driver should work fine.  Of course, if you're still having problems using one driver, I'd try another driver for the sake of testing.

I've installed the newer beta driver and this has fixed it!

Now the only problem is the Nvidia gaming experience software doesn't work, most likely isn't supposed to with the beta of the latest driver version.

    Vlad06,
I am glad to hear you were able to resolve your initial issue with your dual monitor setup. As for the G-Force experience, I would recommend uninstalling the program through the control panel->add/remove programs, and do a fresh installations with the driver you downloaded. When running the installation for the driver, make sure to use the custom method and not the express. When it prompts you to select which programs to install, make sure you only have selected the GeForce Experience (the graphic driver may be grayed out and selected by default, this is ok). At the bottom of screen you should have an option for 'Perform a clean installation', go ahead and select that as well and continue with the installation process.
