As the title says occasionally I will get this error while playing a game. The screen will flash black and the desktop will comeback but the game stays black but I can hear what's going on. I have DSR set to 1.5 and 33% with my GTX 970 SSC if that is any help.  I noticed that if I leave the default fan profile or the way it is set in the Bios to normal, that is when it occurs (right around the 49C temp range). If I manually set the fan speed to say 35% I can play all day with no issues. Is anyone else getting this kind of problem?

Error revisited.. Just showed its ugly head again with driver version 344.60. Does anyone know why this would be happening? The card is not overheating, the highest it gets in mid 60's. Is it a driver issue? Thanks for any input.

Try downclocking/underclocking the card to see if it helps stop the error.

    Sajin,
Thanks for replying :) How would I go about doing that and what software would I use? Sorry for my ignorance, I'm new to this. Thanks again.

No problem. You could use EVGA Precision X or MSI Afterburner. Set the clocks to -105 from defaults on both the core and memory then retest your game.

    Whitedragon,
I haven't messed with the settings. The card boosts to 1392 by itself. So far I haven't had the issues again. Fingers crossed.

I think when I first installed the card I used those, not sure tho. My memory is that of a gerbil sometimes  :)

    Whitedragon,
I'm using the 344.60 drivers right now. So far so good. Maybe it was a fluke.

I've had my system for almost a month now and now I'm getting display driver crashes when playing Planetside 2.  I've put precision x back to stock settings and sometimes it happens within 15 minutes or 2.5 hours really random.  I ran Unigine for about 1.5hrs and it never missed a beat.  Anyone got any ideas?  Using the latest driver and update all drivers through the geforce experience app.
