Disable or Turn Off CPU Temp on Z170 Stinger

Hi, I've currently enabled dark mode in the BIOS which turns off most LED's on the motherboard, but not the CPU temp while the computer is on. I'm fine with or without the postcodes, but would prefer the this indicator to turn off after the computer has booted.

    I am sorry to say but at this time the LED cannot be turned off.

    Would it be safe to cover with black electrical tape?

    That is what I tell users, but make sure it is a GOOD Tape and not that poor sticky or stringy grade tape.

    Any example of a good tape to use? I was planning on picking some up from Target this evening.

    Just curious why you don't like it I personally love it, it reads very accurate like dead on on my FTW 170

    Totally accurate! Red doesn't really fit my build, if it was white or RGB I wouldn't mind it at all, but part of the reason I chose the Z170 Stinger was for its appearance and neutral colors, the red led conflicts with that.

    It would be nice for Dark Mode to turn this off as well. It's nice to have that LED on when you want it or for troubleshooting, but most temp monitoring programs can read that sensor directly making it a bit redundant for some people. I personally don't mind it but I can see why people would want it off for that totally stealth look. :)

    I can see on color scheme but they are really small to splash a color schemed pc.
     
    Guess I ended up lucky lol my THOR V2 case is the blk edt. and all red my last build was all blue.
