Hello all I have a simple question regarding resolution. Reading online it's understood that Display Port supports higher Resolutions than HDMI? Any truth to this as I'm wondering if my 1060 would be better off using a display port or HDMI to connect with a 4k Monitor. Thanks for the advice.

Which monitor?  Is it HDMI 1.4 or 2.0? HDMI 1.4 only supported 4K up to 30Hz.  HDMI 2.0 will go 60Hz.

Yes, DP can go higher resolution, but unless you are buying a 5K monitor soon, that won't matter.

I personally prefer DP regardless.  It is what I run on all of the monitors at work, especially because I can go a little bit longer distance without issues even at a higher bandwidth.

What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus
