So this changes the settings of the monitor on the hardware side and not the software side? So basically this will have to apply to all games correct?

Not compatible with S2716DG AFAIK.

Correct - NVCP one only enables V-Sync if you go over 144Hz.  If you turn the one in game on it will lock the monitor to 30/60/120/144Hz and not allow it to be variable.

As far as I know, FAST will unlock the FPS but reduce tearing. I dont want that. I just want smoothness. So ON?

You mean back in the days when people KNEW how to fix things?!?!  I grew up in the DOS/Win 3.0 days myself - and getting these youngins to touch a CLI or Powershell is like pulling teeth.  YOU MEAN I CAN'T CLICK!?!?

Correct - ON here in NVCP and OFF in the actual game settings menus...  Technically this setting should override any game settings anyway but you never know.

Hmm, I think that the V-Sync in game will be exactly the same as the V-Sync in NVCP. If you see nVidia's default settings, it's "Use application's settings" which means it's up to me in game if I wanted to enable/disable the V-Sync.
The V-Sync settings in NVCP is just global if I want to set it on all games regardless. I believe that in game settings should be find and just as good.
So I guess I will just do that.
Thanks for letting me know that V-Sync ON is okay to be combined with G-Sync.

Keep in mind that IN-GAME G-Sync setting is NOT the same as NVCP G-Sync though...  There were some posts from nVidia techs on their forums that I remember reading - basically saying that a lot of games don't work all that well with V-Sync on, because the engines do more than just tell the GPU to use V-Sync - and can actually interfere with G-Sync which is why they suggest using NVCP to override.
 
EDIT: This explains it better than I can - last 2 paragraphs. "The Vsync option in the NVIDIA Control Panel is a special type of G-Sync-aware VSync, which only kicks in at high framerates. NVIDIA has optimized this to work well with G-Sync. Another question, sorry if I am asking too many, why can't I find my monitor using the service tag on the box? I mean it's not really that big of a deal since I already got the GeekSquad 4 year replacement plan but it is just annoying. Can you find yours using your service tag?
