Can you please give us an update as to what is going on with the Classifieds? When will Newegg/Amazon etc. get them? Communication has been horrid the past 2 weeks regarding these cards, and many of us are holding out on the currently in stock GTX 780 cards in anticipation of the classifieds. If there are production issues we can accept that just please give us some type of update.

I feel bad because I sent him a pm not 30 minutes ago about it :( I hated to even send it because I'm sure he's tired of hearing about it, but I just had to.

I only ask due to the boatload of cards that recently became available on Newegg, 760 FTW, 770 Classified, 780 SC ACX, 780 SC HC

Lol, yeah Twitter... I just followed him on there to check it out and sure enough, 8 hours ago he stated "looks like next week right now :( Sorry."

He also stated it looked like next week for Newegg shipments as well (I assume that goes for most e-tailers)

Ignore my PM Jacob. I had no idea you were replying about it on Twitter so much since I rarely (if ever) actually use mine.

Thank you for the official update, can you please keep us apprised of the situation on the forums and not just Twitter, I really want to shut up and just have you guys take my money, however my approved financing is through newegg so I am stuck waiting for them to hit there. However my wife and boss are now very happy that i can stop sitting on newegg and evga.com and get some work done =0).

Price here on EVGA is 699, so I'm guessing probably like 709 on Newegg. They usually mark it up a little for the first little while.

My only question's left are the Classified Hydro Coppers included in this ETA along with the retailers and what will the price be?  Any answered questions are really appreciated.

Well seeing how things went lately (given the production rate of the GTX 780 SC ACX and Classified); I am a bit sceptic about this.
    Seeing is believing right?

Also in regards to communication to your potential customers; wouldn't it be smarter to use (or to prefer) EVGA-forums over Twitter? Or use these forums at least as primary way to communicate? Don't get me wrong, because there is nothing wrong with Twitter, but I think communicating to your users / buyers / customers would be best done through the EVGA-forums, hence the name of the forums... Just my 2 cents.

    +1

I think the same. See for reference the post from some other dude on this forum. He ordered a Classified and was send an ACX SC version instead. Haha. He was living in the UK.

On a sidenote; I don't mind much that my Classifieds aren't shipped yet. More and more details are becoming available of MSI's GTX 780 Lightning. Looks very, very promising. I think EVGA missed out on this due to poor availability and production rates...

    Check this site out: http://videocardz.com/44899/msi-shows-off-geforce-gtx-780-lightning-performance-with-ln2-cooling

I guess there will be more details coming out next week about this beast!

Due to low availability, it is pretty well known that a lot of EU/AU etailers sell these cards well before they actually have stock. Heck, even TigerDirect in the US is notorious for this as well. It's unfortunate to see as customers.

I really hope the other etailers don't get shady with classified skus like they did with the normal 780 GTXs and create multiple prices depending on demand. I'd see multiple item numbers from some sites like Tigerdirect showing SOLD OUT for normal MSRP then show IN STOCK for a jacked up $700+ price before

Well it really seems EVGA is really losing ground because they cannot supply the demand of the Classified cards.

MSI is soon going to release their GTX 780 Lightning and specifications are available soon.

Now Galaxy also released their HOF version of the GTX 780. I quote:

Surprisingly the card is only clocked at 1006/1058 MHz, you would obviously expect a higher frequency from flagship model. What is even more surprising is that the memory was not overclocked too, meaning this huge cooler doesn’t really have much work to do. Of course this card can easily be overclocked to much higher clocks. In fact HKEPC recently overclocked it to 1.9 GHz.
The PCB is equipped with 8+2 phase VRM, which is powered by dual 8-pin power connectors. The card is also equipped with premium tantalum capacitors.
The GTX 780 HOF arrives with a custom dual-fan cooling solution. It consists of a large aluminum fin array and three heat pipes. There’s no excuse for such a big cooler, it looks like it was made only for visual pleasure.

    It has a white PCB.

More information and details are available here.

    //update

Wow... It even comes with an external power supply (probably something like EVbot). This is included so you don't have to purchase it seperately as with EVGA. Really makes you starting to wonder about getting the Classified.

A separate external power supply module also ships with the GeForce GTX 780 HOF which can be bought offering an 8 Phase PWM with its own set of voltage adjustment and tuning points powered via three 8 Pin connectors. A must have for LN2 overclocking.

Seems EVGA is being outrun by the competition. Now I am really looking forward to see what MSI has for us. They claim it will be fastest GTX 780. So far it's 1 - 0 for Galaxy over EVGA.

    LOL way to be over-dramatic.

The only competition for EVGA's Classified is the Lightning.
That Galaxy card is just the same as its 680 counterpart.  White PCB for the white system build, nothing more.

and LOL at that other link.  GPU is apparently clocked at 1800mhz but still can't beat the numbers that MSI put up with their own LN2 run of 780 Lightning.

And how is it 1 for Galaxy and 0 for EVGA?

EVGA actually has the Classified's out in the wild, unlike Galaxy.  And I highly doubt the actual retail cards will do anything like their cherry picked demo that their showing around.

Apparently you cannot read things correctly?

    Quote:

The core runs at an clock speed of 1006 MHz with a GPU Boost clock of 1058 MHz while the memory operates at the reference 6008 MHz or 6 GHz effective frequency.

Where does it say 1800 Mhz?

And furthermore; yeah sure it doesn't beat the Lightning, however their overclocked 3dmark score already dates back from over one whole month ago. Back than there were 3dmark scores of the Lightning, let alone Classified. Heck, there were hardly any details available at all about the Lightning.

I have to say that the Galaxy card looks really cool, but I think I will wait for my Classified. The Galaxy card's aren't for sale in Scandinavia anyways.

The problem with this score is that it was obtained with liquid nitrogen as a coolant, you will most likely never reach similar scores with the Twin Frozr V cooler it ships with. However, MSI never said their card was made to operate with an air cooler by default. It was designed to give the best possible performance with LN2 or water cooling. That said, if you were planning to buy it, but you are not going to replace the cooler, then you would better buy the Gaming Edition or EVGA’s Classified. You’ll save both time and money.

    Re:Dear EVGA_Jacob Where are the 780 Classifieds? 2013/07/26 05:13:17 (permalink)
Well come next week we will get more concrete details and probably a full picture of the Lightning card. Until we get said details right now the Classified is the best card on the market in terms of availability as well as performance boosts via overclocking. Many have stated they hit 1300mhz + with little to no issues on stock voltage. The one big thing Lightning has over EVGA is they dont need EVbot to reach 1.8v, the Lightning can obtain it via software.

The Twin Frozr V which MSI uses is a complete redesign of their previous air coolers and should give way better performance than previous air coolers made by MSI. Though I must admit LN2 scores will always be better, but that's not strange.

The only major differences I see between the pair of them is possibly Higher Core clock, we still dont know if MSI is going to OC the base memory frequency, and the fact that you dont need a 3rd tool to hit 1.8v.

The Frozen redesign is no different then the ACX design on the classified, its 2 fans on top of a big ass heat sink. Aesthetic wise will it look better, probably. Honestly I kinda like the look of the ACX design it looks sleek and professional, if it had some chrome effects on it I think it would be one of the best looking fans on the market.

Right now EVGA has a small leg up as we know that for the classified there will be a water block at some point due to a HC Classy version being released. MSI will rely on EK Waterblocks, which If I am not correct pulled all Lightning Waterblocks for the 680 and 7970 Lightning after they were frying cards due to copper touching chips it was not supposed to.

So until MSI gives us full details the 780 Classy remains the best Card on the market.
