Im not a big fan of these "help us win" threads. Its almost cheating IMO. That said, after looking through the contest entries:

I've voted for the L3P Desk because it seems like the most practical mod of the bunch, which is what most modders seem to put last. Sorry, but its function before beauty for me.

you guys are only looking at beating the desk. odds are you won't bet the desk it is to far ahead.but you should be worried about not even making top 3. the gingerbread house on page 2 has 2nd place by like 300 votes over  tron. then on page 3 the space ship is pretty much neck an neck with tron.would be a shame if tron didn't even make the top 3

I gave Tron my vote too. I do also like the desk 1, it makes a nice presentation, though it is a simple and easy to execute idea. I think the Gingerbread house's votes are propped up with spam votes, it's an art piece, but silly idea and useless rig. The one's I feel should have more votes than they do are the 8-bit white mage and BETA (I know the guy who made BETA and it is a beautifully conceived and executed project).

With such an extensive work log, im sure they do.  I've followed the Tron Light-Cycle build on these forums. The amount of work and detail that went into it is really impressive, dont get me wrong. But other than look pretty and take up a massive amount of desk space, its not very practical.

Yeah the TRON Lightcycle is sick. It should win hands down, but it's not winning at the moment. Don't forget to respond to the vote verification email or your vote doesn't count.

Check out the building of it posted here on the EVGA forums.

I dont see anything permanent. It seems no different than upgrading any other water cooled system. The tron cycle is the size of a desk, the L3p Desk gives you a desk to work on.  How is that not practical?

Regardless, people should vote on what they think is best, not what they are asked to.  Good luck to all participants.

I threw away my vote on the suspended cube from Hellraiser.  I thought it was a gutsy way of building a case that most wouldn't appreciate.  I think the Tron case is cool but to be honest the idea seemed too obvious.  The builder did a great job.  The desk is boring but it does look like an original design rather than copying something from a movie.

The guy states that all the cooling is done under his house. That doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the fact that his "PC" can be moved with any type of ease.

Now I suppose one can argue that almost anything can be "moved" (I saw someone moving an entire house on the freeway yesterday for example), however as far as computers go, this one is pretty much set in stone IMO.

In any case, you have given me something to think about. I'm going to go turn my 800D on its side so I can eat a sandwich on it and do a cross word puzzle at the same time. Apparently that will make it much more practical.

On a somewhat related note...

WOAH (and I'm not talking about the computer)!

I voted the light cycle for it's awesomeness factor (too bad you don't sit on it as a chair in front of the desk). Also liked the Usonian Frank Lloyd Wright Asian type design. It got my vote in that category. It's going to loose, but come on a wooden computer.

Ok I did think about this before I posed my thread. Thus you will note I have always stated the following on my opening statement
"if you think as I do that its the best mod there please vote via the link im posting and confirm your vote via your email inbox"
You are of coarse able and as we have seen willing to vote for other builds. I just hope to point out what I feel is a far superior and original design and fabrication and build the complexity to me is immense compared to a simple square box. But as always this is my opinion some will not agree and this is ok.

I read through the thread for the Tron Light-Cycle build. I then went and looked at the other entries I liked the Tron Light-Cycle so I voted for it, I got the validation email straight away too. There's something ornamental about it, like it should take pride of place along with the Classic Model Cars some collect or Sci-Fi collection. Okay well that's my ramblings. I liked it I voted .

There were a lot o good entries in that contest, but the best man won.  That TRON bike was waaaaaaaay over the top.  Poor blokes who entered had no chance against it.

Apparently the public voting was used as part of the points.  There were judges at CM that graded the cases.

The Light cycle won!

The bench or L3P still had way more vote though... I am guessing they found out that it was unfairly advertized on the other site?

i have also seen other desk mods, their is a guy on the overclock.net that has one and i think he did a better job than that guy.

My second favrot is the LAMENT CONFIGURATION and for 3rd Charge!.
