Kinda like Hardline felt to me...??? - still early though, right ?

I assumed battle front is like the past 2 battle fronts. Is this not the case?

I've been saying this for a while... I'll get it but it's just going to be Battlefield with Star Wars pasted on to it...

Well of course it's going to be like Battlefront, I think we all knew that when they announced it.

Angry Joe gave you a tiny run down on it on youtube. I would post it, but some cry babies may may need some vagisil afterwards. Its as honest as your going to get though on thoughts on it. Not a game apparently that I would be willing to pre-order, nor pay 60 dollars for. At least its a little more interesting than hardline lol, but sadly many ways a stripped down game is what its like. I do have to say the force powers look cool.

But.....after watching the videos so many times, I've come to realize that Battlefront is shaping up to be a half-baked rendition of Battlefield.  
 
On the plus side, I like Battlefront's visuals and sounds.  On the downside, DICE streamlined this game so much that if you are coming from playing BF3 and BF4, you'll be missing a quite a bit in this game.  I do know DICE is not intent on making this another Battlefield game, but, it is inevitable that players will make the comparison. 
 
The only thing massive about this game is the hype.  You have to give credit to EA/DICE's advertising machine for creating a skillfully crafted, flashy video demonstration. 
 
In a way, this Battlefront has ideas taken from Bad Company 2:  
 
 -  40-player count is closer to BC2's 32-player count, rather than BF3/BF4's 64-slots
 
 - Orbital strike is the same idea as the mortar strike in BC2
 
 - Walker Assault is just another take on the Rush mode first pioneered in Bad Company, subsequently used in BF3 and BF4
 
  - The idea of end of round video bites was also used in BC2
 
I'll reserve judgement until the game is released, but the force in me is sensing this to be a lost opportunity by EA/DICE.
 

And many people believe Bad Company 2 was the best Battlefield or at least one of the best.  But I guess since Battlefront3 is not exactly like Battlefield (because it's NOT Battlefield), it is going to fail in everyone's eyes.  Even though everyone was worried about BC2 since it was only 32 players and wasn't a clone of BF2, but look at how people remember BC2 now...
 
I will hold my judgment for when the game is actually released like I did for BC2.  I mean even I thought BC2 was going to suck when it came out, but funny how lots of us wish they would make a BC3 now...

I just wish game developers would make the best possible game for each platform.  Stop short changing the PC version because the console can't handle as many things being shown on screen.
 
They should allow the PC community to decide on server settings including max player count. Stop making them run x settings if they want to receive traffic quickplay option. Let people enjoy the game how they see fit.

I agree with MBP as well. I used to love the Battlefront games because they played like Battlefield games. Reskin or not I am in.

It's a full-arsed Battlefield mod. It will sell like hotcakes (...do hotcakes really sell that well?) because the hype for the next Star Wars movie will overwhelm all rational thought for fans. It's like EA put Star Wars art in a Battlefield DICE title and shook the money tree to see how much falls out.

Sounds like the kind of review I would expect.. from someone who sucks at Battlefield.

You meant to say, its Battlefront, cause its Battle FRONT, not battleFIELD.  Go play the last 2 battle front games. They might be similar, but they really are not.

Dunno about the legitimacy of the reviewer in the OP, but the gameplay I've seen also made me sit back and say "man - this looks a lot like Battlefield with blasters".
 
I'm not saying it won't be good, but if you're not a fan of Battlefield, I bet this game will be a huge disappointment for you.

TBO that footage looked freaking fun! I am totally okay with a Star Wars themed Battlefield, that's what it really is after all. I remember playing the old Battlefronts and that's what I remember it being like. Then again to each his own, I didn't read the article, but just watched the footage. How many times I've listened to reviews  and had the total opposite opinion as the reviewer. We will see when it comes out though. To me it looks like a ton of fun though!

I see CoD being more playable vs this hyped Star Wars BF crap, and it's been 10+ years since I've touched CoD!
