Think most on here love the looks and wonder how it performed/comfort.  Well this is what i gathered from mine.

1.  Just seeing this mouse made me get the googly eyes.  Its sooo pretty and yet futuristic.  Great lines and black is always a great choice.

2.  Opening the box was a lot of fun.  Not only the mouse, but with most "gaming" mice nowadays you get maybe a different size palm rest, this had 3-yes 3 palm rests, 3 "pinkie" grips to change and a nice little storage cylinder for your removable weights.  Oh and its all housed in a nice aluminum box with the Cyborg logo.

3.  Software- very simple and straightforward setup with supplied CD.  The actual programming software is simple but does what people expect.  you can program all the different buttons to do anything you want.  and you have 3 modes to switch from with different macros set in each mode, i.e. mode 1 for general use, mode 2 for gaming.  And of course you can adjust the dpi of each of 4 set modes for it.  ranging from 100dpi to 5600dpi, yes 5600!  Also a little neat feature, precision aim button.  So you're going in an fps and zoom on the sights, well they're moving to fast to aim or you need slight movement as a sniper.  The red button on the side slows down the dpi when you press it.  you can also adjust how much or how little the precision aim button slows your dpi, very cool feature imo.  Only thing ill mark it off on is you cannot, or at least i didn't see the option, change the modes color, they go from red-blue-purple.  not a biggie, just a quirk.

4. Comfort-  This is replacing a Logitech g9 and i had a G5 before it.  This blows them away, not just the overall comfort from the customization but all the buttons too.  The scroll wheel is bigger than most but is very comfortable to use.  It scrolls seamlessly and pressing it for the button isn't too hard but not too soft either.  The forward and back buttons are "normal and in a great spot because guess what?  you can adjust where they set, you can move that side forward or back.  also you can move it in and out away from the body for wider hands.  As far as sliding, i use a razer sphex gaming mat.  The Rat slides like my g9 with those aftermarket teflon feet, i was very happy about that.  Also the "pinkie" cup was very nice, you can just relax your pinkie and ring finger.  it also has a thumb scroll wheel next to the forward/back buttons.  I have not found a use for this yet.  the way it works i don't really know what i would use it for in general use or for gaming.

believe that's it, if i think of something else ill edit this.

Now on to some pics...

where you take the weights on or off

the mod tool, it's housed in the back of the mouse

can see the aim button(in red)

weight system

the palm rests, hope you can see the height difference.  the 2 are same height but one it rubberized and the third(middle one) is just taller

different pinkie things, got the "cupped" one on :D

where you adjust the in and out movement of the back/forward button plate.

for adjusting the forward and back movement of the forward/back button plate

and where you house your goodies

    Great review!

Do you find that the pieces fit on tightly?  As in their is not any play and the mouse feels solid.  I was concerned about this with my Logitech G9X and thankfully the grips for that mouse fit tight.  I'd consider this mouse very much if the pieces were to not wiggle around where they shouldn't.  Actually my next mouse may be this one or the Logitech G700.

ya everything is snug and feels good.  only thing is the palms have a little wiggle if you sit there and actually wiggle it, but you can not notice it during use.

all is good....did i mention i love this mouse?

well.  i'm not happy with the RAT 7 so far.

1st issue, it doesn't work with my v2 icemat.  my G5, g7, g9, and g500 work perfectly on the icemat.

That mouse would give me nightmares.  It looks like it would transform into something bigger and badder, and then vaporize me.

btw using this mat, Razer Sphex

worked well with g9 as well as my new baby the RAT 7.  nice smooth surface and just tacky(not sticky) enough to not slide at all.  also have removed the mat and replaced it about 4 times and still stays tacky/wont move.
