with 4 sticks of memory I was able to boot up to 1867MHz using default (auto) VCCIO at 1.058v.
at 2133MHz I needed a slight bump however for firmer stability when under load, settled it at 1.100V and all works fine. I read that some users actually needed 1.200V (which is probably close to safe daily maximum you can set it to), I tried that first but there was no difference between this and 1.1v.

Mind that I am new to this technology and actually I don't know if maybe I am supposed to run the VCCIO at 1.15v so it stays 0.5v below the DIMM voltage (1.65V)... but then again maybe that was the case on P55 and not on P67/Z68, I am not sure, still learning this stuff.

EDIT:
eventually I set VCCIO at 1.15V, because I had some random fail errors under LinX even at first pass.

Now I am stable under Linx 0.6.4 w/AVX for 20 rounds in Max memory mode, with CPU @ 4.5GHz (x45 multi) using vcore of 1.325v and the memory running 2133MHz (4 sticks, 4GB each, 9-11-10-28 1T @ 1.65v).

the only thing which keeps bugging me is why I have to use automatic Command Rate on memory and manual setting (same value as auto!) doesn't work at all resulting in POST code 45.

Had the same problem with my x58 FTW3 board. I could adjust most settings but the command rate, if I changed it from auto it wouldn't boot at all.

Case: NZXT S340
Mobo: MSI Z87 G45
Video: EVGA GTX 780ti SC
Proc: Intel i5 4670k @ 4ghz
Ram: 2x4GB G.skill TridentX 2400mhz
PSU: Antec 650w
Drive: 256GB Samsung 840 Pro

interesting ... was it just one specific BIOS release or all of them? does x58ftw3 have a UEFI BIOS?
I see that you are running Corsair Dominators, as far as I can tell those sticks are somewhat similar to Mushkin Enhanced, interesting.

The issue was re-occurring even after a BIOS update. And the FTW3 does not have a UEFI BIOS. I could never run my ram at it's rated 2000mhz because the IMC on my 920 is crap but the command rate couldn't be touched or she would refuse to boot and I'd have to clear CMOS. I remember with my 790i FTW I could change the command rate to 1T with my mushkin ram and my old dominator non-GT

thanks for an update!

will you able to manualy set the CR with DOminator's GT? just trying to figure out what is at fault here and so far all points to the combo of this board's BIOS vs memory sticks type.

I can't complain on my 996990 sticks though, they run OC'ed to 2133MHz in 4-stick setup 24/7 with zero issues... I just left the CR on auto, but thankfully the BIOS still sets it as 1T which is great.
