How is the Corsair 800D case handling water cooling and their new CPU cooling block?  From what I saw its a self contained system, or am I way off as usual?

the corsair 800D is an amazing water cooling case (if not the best, aside from the mmod cases).
the corsair H50 isnt a great block to be honest. Its good and will get the job done.
However, it just doesnt keep up to par with the self built loops utilizing a larger rad and better cpu blocks.

What no swiftech water cooling rad. or the 655 pump all there stuff is good it works
for me and my system and what about koolance there new cpu cooler the 360 is
better then the heatkiller so there is more good stuff out there.
More then the old days when it just started.

As mentioned earlier, all rads are more or less the same in their respective heat load capacities.
the 655 pump has been mentioned, and although a good pump, tests have proved that the 355 pump + top is better.
The Koolance blocks doesnt even make the top 5. And no, it is not better than the Heatkiller.
Event he apogee XT with its original milling defects performed better than the koolance blocks.
I like the QDC fittings from koolane but thats about it. I would be wary of koolance and always check for AL in their stuff.

Agreed that there are more stuff than the old days (by old i mean early 2000).

Update1:
with EK supreme HF.
simple tests confirms its the best bang for the buck out there...
now if only they can make it look sexier....
(and you can now with RRtechs service sidewinder computers has em on sale for an added 50USD.)

Update 2:
Added Online WC stores in the US, UK, Aus, Asia.
Work in progress. Some comments on them.

Have you thought about adding http://www.jab-tech.com/ to the list of stores. I have bought a few things there. Seems to be a good site.

Sure thing. I have not personally bought anything from the site, but i do believe there are those who have. If you would like, you can comment on your experience with them and I will add your comment along with the site in the list. Thanks.

It has been awhile since I bought from them. I do remember that they had the item I needed at a good price. As with any purchase shop around for the best deal. I just wanted to give another option to people.

Can you please post links to where the Heatkiller CPU block outperforms the Koolance 360?  The Trubritar review site says otherwise.

Re:Cumulative Watercooling (buying) Guide and FAQ (Update:5/20/10) 2010/06/22 20:30:21 (permalink)
I was PMed on another forum earlier about "rising liquid levels" in the reservoir. The thing that came to mind immediately was there was a small leak somewhere that was letting air in pushing the water level in the res up.

We found that it was an overstressed rotary compression that although was not leaking, was letting air through. After it was replaced the problem disappeared.

I have updated the faq in the first post describing this case.
Hope it helps. Good luck on all the WC builds out there. Cheers.

Great guide. Ever considered building your own case specifically designed around water? That is a project that many might attempt (well, maybe if it were a wood case, or plexi), provided they had guidance.

You definitely seem to know your way around the liquid cooling equipment.

I do have one question. How does EK waterblocks rank, from radiators to waterblocks to you. What they build appears to be good quality, just curious if people have any preferences for or against them.

Re:Cumulative Watercooling (buying) Guide and FAQ 2010/07/19 07:25:55 (permalink)
I have the plexi for a Rad Box, a spearate box for just the res pump and rad, that I had pre-cut and have yet to assemble. That way it can be attached to any case/system and ives more flexible placement. However the main benefit would be to get it away from the heat source.

I'm sure the OP will chime in but IMHO EK is the best thing going right now for water-blocks and reservoirs. My EK-HF is the current #1 ranked CPU water-block. I buy there blocks almost exclusively now. They are well made, great performing and the packages are generously complete. I can not comment on there rads. For now I'm satisfied with the Thermochill, Swiftech and Feser Rads that I am currently using. I have not seen a compelling reason, based on reviews I've read, to change. If I had no rads and was in the market for one, I'd certainly give them a hard look.

Good Luck in your quest!

Thanks owcraftsman, i figured that they were great on blocks. I doubt that there would be too much difference in radiator performance between brands.

That was a good idea for a radiator box and resivoir. I would probably try something like that to keep the heat away from my corner desk (pump the heat into someone elses room more likely )

Do you think it would be necessary to add a booster pump to get the fluid to move a few feet further than the case, to put the radiator elsewhere?

Re:Cumulative Watercooling (buying) Guide and FAQ 2010/07/22 02:33:47 (permalink)
Yeah I have built some cases for people before.
there really is only one rule there. Measure twice, cut/dremele/drill once.

I use the EK x58 mobo block and am very happy with its performance. I have also tried the EK-HF cpu block and have to admit it is indeed the best block on the market. However, the aesthetics of the block seem to lack for me. Therefore, I still prefer the HK 3.0 CU.

As craftsman has mentioned, there arent much difference between rads of different brands. Though I would highly advise you stick with TFC, XSPC and TC rads.

As for the booster question, it depends where. and your current restrictions on the flow.

How you can see my PC spec down here. Please tell me what can i buy for 180-200$ max! Thanks

If you can't afford to get into water cooling I would say just don't do it. 180-200$ is going to get you next to nothing and you be better off just saving your money.

Maybe look into getting a discrete unit like the Corsair H50 or CoolIT A.L.C. coolers if you really have to have something.

Corsair:

CoolIT:
http://www.coolitsystems....ducts/cpu-coolers.html

DUEL- A prearranged, formal combat between two persons, usually fought to settle a point of honor.
DUAL- composed or consisting of two people, items, parts, etc.

those are poor performers. jsut stick with air cooling at your budget.

Nah look at this.

http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=410769

From what I gather those are decent parts.  I reckon I will pick those up for a separate CPU loop after I do my GPU first (GTX 480 really needs it at these volts).  Except I'll stick with Feser UV Green tubing (which means 1/2" ID, still fine) and Panaflo fans, just a push config since push/pull with those would be overkill.

Hi all I was just wondering if my pump which i s the one included with the xspc 720 pump & reservoir combo is strong enough for ek hf supreme, 2 x swiftech 360 stackable, and x58 le full mobo water block. It has a 750 lph. I only have one 360 rad for now but I would get another and add x58 le full mobo ek block.I know these are all pretty much low restrictive components, but still wondering how well this pump can do .Not planning on getting another pump less connections less risk.

Due to work getting really busy I have not had the time to update, answer questions on this topic and other PMs on watercooling. My apologies to everyone. Anyway I'll start, not by answering the previous questions (as someone else has probably already addressed all the questions), but by talking about Dust.

Yes, you heard me right... dust.

Dust build up can severely hamper the cooling abilities of your air cooled and WC rigs. Im sure you all know this already, but I urge you all to clean your rigs at least every 6 months. Im a rather lazy person myself and have been neglecting my rig as work has come by the ton loads. Today however, I spent a good 30min to do a quick cleanup of my rig - Using an air duster, replacing some filters, and the fans/rads (I did not top up or change the DW in my loops as they are still crystal clear and at decent levels even after 8 months... Silver coils ftw!).

Anyway the results were astounding. Just cleaning out the dust from the system yielded a drop of around 6c overall case temp, 5c CPU core temp, and 7c GPU core/pcb temps. I use a HAF932 for my main rigs case and the airflow really does help when its cleaned. I surprised even myself from these results.

Anyway, good luck with everyones build - be it air or water.

Demciflex filters after a couple weeks/months(?)
