Recently my PC started to restart itself but after finding out it was the PSU i replaced the PSU but at the same time i replaced the heatsink on the CPU but with my lack of knowledge on hardware i pulled the CPU out of the socket while the arm of the CPU socket was down but i checked the CPU and there was nothing wrong with it at all no pins out no bent pins or anything  after a few weeks i received a new PSU and everything booted up fine no problems then when going through playing a few games of CSGO my computer kept crashing and i wasn't able to do anything on the PC so i decided to reformat my hard drive and install windows 8 again and as soon as i started looking through youtube my computer crashed and i had to restart the PC.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem?

Might be the hard drive. My friends hard drive had similar symptoms before it died.

The Banshee: Ryzen 5 5600 @ 4.65GHz 1.25V, CPU + 2X GPU Custom loop w/ 360mm & 240mm rads, Asrock X370 Taichi, 2X GTX 780 Ti SLI, EVGA 1300 G2, WD Blue 1TB (main storage), Corsair Force LS 120GB (OS Drive), Fractal Design Arc XL, 2X8GB G.skill Trident Z @ 3200 C14

Test all your hardware to see if you can find the problem.

CPU Testing: Run IBT v2.54 with the stress level set to maximum and times to run set to 10 to rule out a faulty CPU.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/azzprpvwkonowbv/IntelBurnTest+2.54%2811.0.1.005%29.zip

RAM Testing: Run Memtest86+ v5.01 for ten passes to rule out faulty RAM. http://www.memtest.org/download/5.01/memtest86+-5.01.usb.installer.zip (You will need a USB flash drive to install memtest onto.)

GPU Testing: Run 3dmark11 three times consecutively. (Use performance preset with display scaling mode set to stretched.) http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/3dmark_11.html

HDD/SSD Testing: For HDD/SSD testing check your HDD/SSD manufacturers website for testing tools. e.g. For Western Digital HDD's use Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows. For Intel SSD's use Intel Toolbox.

PSU Testinghttp://www.hardwareheaven.com/guides/testingPSU/ (You will need a Digital Multimeter for testing your PSU. You want all three rails to be within ATX spec, ATX Specification: 12V: 11.40 to 12.60,  5V: 4.75 to 5.25,  3V: 3.135 to 3.465. If any of your rails hit the minimum spec I would replace the PSU with a new one.)
HOW TO: Properly load your system when checking PSU voltages.
#1 Download & Install Prime95
#2 Download & Install EVGA OC Scanner X
#3 Open both Prime95 & EVGA OC Scanner X. (Run Small FFT test for Prime95. Run stress test Furry E @ 1024x1024 with 8x AA. Run both of these tests at the same time while checking voltages.)

NOTE: Always check your hardware with your motherboards BIOS set to default settings.

Tested the CPU using prime 95 and there was no problem. It was at 100% for half an hour at the temp only went to 50C.

Just done a diskcheck with windows 8 and there was no problems found.

Just done a test with seagate tools and i done a DST scan to see if there was any problems and it came back that it failed the test so i done a fix all and i tested it again using the same DST and it came back passed. Could that have been a problem?

Possibly. Time to test the machine by doing something that causes it to crash.

Are all of your drivers up to date? motherboard bios, gpu, sound card ect...I've got crashes before because of bad combo of nvidia/realtek drivers with some games with a pc running win8. Drove myself nuts looking for the cause. I hope you find the issue it can be frustrating hunting down a issue.

Check the HDD with Victoria - it will show its current health - bad blocks, MTFB, etc. If it shows many slow or bad blocks, repalace the HDD asap.
And test GPU with Furmark - we call it "fluffy donut"
And if the system won't load, saying "Cannot find operational system", it can mean your mobo is dead. A couple weeks ago that hapepned to me, replaced with new one.

When war is declared, Truth is the first casualty.

I have installed the most up to date drivers possible but i can't install the drivers from the disc because there was a problem with reading the disc.

There was no problems to report from victoria but i did do a DST test on the seagate and it came back that it failed but then i did a quick fix and it fixed the DST problem but not sure if its going to continue because it crashed afterwards as well.

I done a test with furmark but it never crashed the system or anything.

Any other ideas? I still need to do a memtest no DVD :(

Try to do a system repair by putting operating system disc in.  The system might have problems due to the fact your operating system crashed so many times before repairing hard drive and replacing PSU.

Well i just tried to install windows 7 so i deleted the whole partition of windows 8 and then during the installation of windows 7 it started to hang at expanding windows files it got stuck at 13%. It also hung when i tried to install windows 8 before as well. So i'm going to go and buy a new hard drive because the hard drive seem to just stop working. Do you think that is the best possible action to take?

Boot off a portable operating system from a USB like Linux or something else and see if it still crashes that will let you know if it's the hard drive/ os.

Could it be a problem with the motherboard and the CPU ? since the CPU came out the socket with the heatsink. I wasn't able to move the arm because of the heatsink

It's happened on both windows 7 and windows 8 OS systems. So I can't see it being the OS system... hmmm..

My first thoughts would be about the thermal paste on the CPU itself. Did you reapply the thermal paste after removing the CPU and reinserting it?

Yeah I reapplied the thermal paste with new thermal paste. I done a prime95 test and my CPU temp was running at 50c since the new heatsink got applied. It might he a problem with the motherboard because of pulling the CPU out with it stuck to the heatsink. I have sent my hard drive off for a full test and I will get it back on Monday and if its fine then ill replace the CPU and motherboard even tho the CPU doesnt look damaged.

Sounds like a decent plan. Hopefully that will fully resolve your issues.

Could all of the crashing by caused by a keyboard driver crashing? cause i plugged my gaming keyboard into my laptop and whenever i ALT + TAB it seems to crash the drivers then reset the drivers again but could it possibly be that it could crash the system whenever i ALT + TAB?
