Do sleeved cables do anything? vs the normal cables
if planned and thought out it properly it "could" make a difference in air flow quality
I have wondered about that. Remembering back to the days when round IDE cables were in fashion to replace the old flat ribbon cables in order to improve airflow through the chassis. And, the PSU end connectors are special connectors on the AX1200. I obtained some 'samples' from the Chinese company that makes them when I was making custom cables for my AX1200. I ended up using the OEM cables for the most part, but it was fun making the cables. However, I did not do the individually sleeved conductors, just one sleeve over the entire cable assembly except for the last inch before the connectors, which were individual.

Are the Corsair kits extensions or do they plug directly into the PSU?
Also what is this?
the 4+4 cpu cable isnt modular on any of the listed PSUs (HX1050/HX850/HX750/TX850M/TX750M/TX650M)
you can connect the 4+4 cable on the PCI-e connectors on corsair PSU's. if you're only on 2-way SLI and you have a motherboard with 2 4+4 CPU connectors then you use the one that's already attached to the PSU and the modular one that can be connected on the PCI-e connector.

Its a nice option to have for a PSU from a company. Not every one knows about our great little society here where we have the pros on sleeving. It still is great that companies are starting to look into this direction with their products!

I've sleeved cables in the past, and while it was pretty nice and gratifying to do it myself, I now work 65-70+ hrs a week.. I am going to buying those Corsair sleeved cables for my AX850 here soon, unless I do get the sudden urge to do it myself.. Either way, it's going to be done. I just don't have a lot of extra time to put into it these days, and just ordering a set is a lot more convenient for me.. I'll trim off some of that heat shrink, if I do get the Corsair sleeved cables, no big deal there. It's just nice to see more companies offering sleeved cables like these.. There are many people who just don't have the 'know-how' or the means to sleeve their own cables. As easy as it may be.. Options like this are nice to have available.

the good thing is that they plug directly in the PSU so they're not exactly extensions because they plug directly in the PSU modular connectors.

I dunno. I think I still prefer the 1 thick sleeve over my cables.
