Hi all,

I am currently planning a new build, in fact I ordered all parts except the graphics card. I had some questions regarding RAM and asked in a german forum, now there are 2 guys trying to convince me that using 2 AiO-Systems is a bad idea, because my case gets cluttered and the other components (potential transformers etc.) will get heat problems. What do you guys think about my build - should I buy a GTX 1080 FTW instead of a Hybrid or will a Hybrid work fine? I will build it with my old graphics card (air cooled GTX 580, always at 92°C) during next week and have a look how much space I have left, but I think it should work. In my theory I will get better temperatures for everything with the Hybrid because there is no hot GPU-Air inside the case (and going through my CPU-radiator) - but there are some people thinking otherwise :>

I attached the plan of the PC, please have a look.

Also, what do you think about the fan for the GPU being inside the case, the radiator outside? Would this work (without cutting the case) or do you think this is a bad idea? I might consider this if there really isn't enough space.

P.S.: I saw this thread with pictures of an H80i, but it does not fully apply as I got the H100i and there are no measurements from temperatures other than GPU & CPU.

Oh, I just saw that this thread might be better placed in the Overclocking, Benchmarking & Cooling-Section. If a mod agrees, can you please move it there? Thanks :>

You got enough airflow from your front fans. I have a case where I'm unable to have a fan in the front, but I will move towards the Hybrid and moving my CPU to an AiO Solution too. The Thing to Keep in mind is that you Need to Keep some aiflow in the case to cool your VRMs etc.

Thanks for the input, I think the same way as you. In case air gets stuck behind the radiator on the mainboard, I will read my Mainboard-Temperatures and if they are too high i might mount another low rpm - fan in front of the 5.25"-bay, blowing underneath the radiator. Just have to find a way to fix it there, maybe with some magnets :>

I'm a bit overcautious for the temperatures because I want to have this PC living for at least 5 years, like my current build did :>

I have a similar case/fan setup with a CM Storm Trooper case.  I added two fans into the side panel as well, though, bringing air in.  I have excellent air flow.  Just be sure to have clean cabling.

i was running two AiO coolers in my build (before selling my 970's)

with the proper air flow you should have no issues. depending on temps on the 1080 FTW i ordered i may go back to the  liquid cooler seen above again it always kept my 970 FTW+ at 29c idle and never got above 50c while gaming.

I don't think there is anything wrong with your configuration. I am planning to do the same thing with a 6700K system I am building. The only difference in my plan is to put the AIO radiator for my 1080 in the floor (bottom) of the case exhausting out.

There should be plenty of airflow in your case.

I seem to have issues when I place the radiator below the pump on the AIO.

Glad to hear all of you guys confirming my plans - so I just have to wait until the 1080 Hybrid is available and I finally can play & stream with everything maxed out xD Might post some pictures & temperatures when I'm done - if anyone is interested ;)

Hopefully the hybrid gets available some time during this month - it will be a pain running my high-end system with my old GTX 580 xD

Yeah, this is also something I heard in this other forums that's one reason why I put it all above it. If there is some air inside the circle you can get bubbles stuck in the pump if you place it above the radiator :0 EVGA recommends the same AFAIK.

Thx for that advice. I'll rethink my layout. Is this also true for cards with full water blocks into tank/pump/cooler setups? I guess I need to read more about water cooling configs.

Pumps on full systems are generally stronger, and you can bleed those systems as necessary.  It isn't quite the same as an AIO cooling system.

There are a lot of really informative sites out there.  You certainly should have a look at them if you are considering going full on water.  I haven't done a full loop in some time.  I got lazy....

FYI : I couldn't stand the wait and finished my build with a 1080 FTW that might get a hybrid kit on Christmas. Temperatures are good (low 60s for the CPU @ 3.9 Ghz, low 70s for the GPU @ 2012-2063 Mhz, low 60s for the VRM on the mainboard). I'm really happy with the temps and the quality of the build, you can see the details at my modsrigs-page :>

Here is a good video on case flow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a12aDCxrcts. I think your configuration is fine but check out the video to help with fine tuning. I might be a little concerned with your power supply. 11650 W might be to much . Seriously though it might not be enough. Check out the Power Meter just in case! http://www.evga.com/power-meter/
