Cooler Master's latest gaming mouse has been reviewed by Benchmark Reviews.

http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=534&Itemid=65

Both the Storm Inferno and Storm Sentinel Advance utilize dual lasers for unmatched precision.  The key differences between this and the Storm Sentinel Advance are as follows.
  • Style - The Storm Sentinel Advance is design for those who prefer the "palm grip" like myself.  The Storm Inferno is designed for those who prefer the "claw grip".  The Storm Inferno also has a lustrous black finish opposed to the Storm Sentinel Advance which has a hefty, non-slip matte black finish.
  • The Storm Sentinel Advance has 5 weights which you can remove to better fit your preference.  The Storm Inferno has no weight system, it is just a lightweight mouse.
  • The Storm Sentinel Advance has an LED screen on the surface showing a logo which you can change (32 x 32 bitmap image is required).  It also shows the current DPI speed.  The Storm Inferno has no LED screen.  Instead it has an LED light next to the profile you're using, so you must remember the DPI settings you applied in the firmware, if any.
  • The Storm Sentinel Advance has a large LED lighting section around the LED screen.  The Storm Inferno has a small LED in the shape of a CM Storm Logo on the surface and a small LED lighting section in the center.
  • The Storm Inferno has 11 buttons opposed to 8.
  • The Storm Inferno supports up to 4000 DPI.  The Storm Sentinel Advance supports up to 5600 DPI.
  • The Storm Sentinel Advance allows for up to 5 profiles to be made, and of course you can cycle through any one of them by using two center buttons.  The Storm Inferno only allows for up to 4 profiles, you toggle through them with the same buttons.
  • The Storm Inferno has 128 KB of memory.  The Storm Sentinel Advance has 64 KB of memory.
  • The Storm Inferno has a more advanced hotkey system called "Storm Tactics".  You can assign various different things to buttons and even make button combinations - for example you can set it so that pressing two buttons at the same time can do something.
  • The MSRP for the Storm Inferno is $59.99.  The MSRP for the Storm Sentinel Advance was $69.99.

Here is my review of the Cooler Master Storm Sentinel Advance.  The Storm Inferno will definitely be the main mouse on my other rig.

I may have to pick one of these up. I have the SS and while its a nice mouse, i miss my side buttons. they are just to high up on the body for me to use with my grip ( claw ). I have gotten so used to my razers and the low slung buttons they have. any idea when this will be released? I will hold off getting another razer if its semi soon.

The Storm Inferno will be released this month according to that review.  I actually like the location of the side buttons on the Storm Sentinel Advance.  You won't be pressing them accidentally.

I like this mouse as well.  Though I'm currently using a Logitech G5 with some weight modules in it, and maybe the Inferno won't feel as comfortable for me.  I guess I could take the G5's weights out and see if I could get used to that.  If so, then the Inferno is my next purchase.

I wish there was somewhere where i could test grip these. I've been looking long and hard (oh wait..what) at the SS, mainly liking the high DPI hoping it'll make mining faster in Mass Effect 2. But i'm a claw guy and inferno is made for me! Decisions...

I also second a Storm keyboard, i'm becoming a storm fanboy.

I just received my Storm Sentinel Advance today from the Zon and so far it feels much better than the G9 that I was using!
Great reviews Boredgunner and really sold me on this!

According to one of the reviews, it was supposed to be available on the 12th.  But I don't see Newegg or Amazon carrying it yet.

Nice.  I will get one for my other computer eventually, but lately I've been buying too much computer stuff as it is.

It's also at the CM Store but an extra $10.

It's not wireless.  I hate wireless peripherals.  Wired FTW.  It's a gaming mouse which is why it's wired.

My Storm Inferno came today and I have spent a few minutes playing with it. !st off, its far better then the SS for someone who uses a claw grip like myself. the left thumb keys are easy to get to, well, then 1st two are. that last one you might have to be an orangutan to reach. I was a bit worried when i saw the buttons on either side of that main clicking buttons but they to are easy to reach . sofar, i think its a upgrade over my old standbye, then Razer Lachesis. I will add more when I get to playing around with the software and set up and use the hot keys in a game.
