is the CPU socket on the x99 the same size/orientation as  the 2011 socket on an x79 motherboard?  Can I get a confirmation whether we can still use the same mounting hardware as we used for the x79 motherboard.

Thanks

I have also seen answers from companies saying that it is the same size mounting, so hopefully everyone is right and we can recycle hardware :-)

If you're using for example a Corsair H105 CPU cooler on an X79 it should work on the X99.

Current waterblocks and HSF's from your X79 should be fine.

It would be Sweet if the X97 MB water blocks could be adapted to work on the X99 (Hint...Hint!!)

To clarify, the CPU block/HSF/etc will all fit, not mobo parts, sorry if this was unclear.  X79 CPU, the socket shares specs and dimensions for mounting.
After rereading that I realized how that sounded.
