Hey all. Just did a new build and I'm having issues installing my GTX 1080.

I can boot to Windows without the GTX installed(just onboard GPU), but when I've tried it(in all 3 slots) the comp wont boot at all, although all the good lights(no red) are on and the comp turns on. I've updated my Mobo to the latest bios. Not sure if I have a bricked card...no way to test another card because this is a fresh build after having a laptop. I've flushed the CMOS, reset all the wiring, made sure the power source (6+2) pins are in both power slots on the card etc. I haven't built a machine in a long time and not sure where to go from here.

Specs:
Full parts list: pcpartpicker.com/list/mKf7Z8
Windows 10 64-bit Prof
Mobo: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
RAM: 4x G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card
Power: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

    Welcome to the forums..Sounds like time to test the GTX 1080 in another compatible PC or take it to a PC repair shop for testing if necessary to see if it's good/bad.

    Hello,

    Do you happen to have any other PCIE cards available to test?

    it seems the problem is in the parts below

    You have two options which are;

    1-your PCI-E slot on your motherboard.

    or

    2-The Gtx 1080 itself

    in this case,if you have any other available PCI express slot on your motherboard you should test the gtx 1080 out in that slot.By doing this at least you figure out something.

    So I brought my comp to a computer place to get both the card and my motherboard tested to see which is bad/whats not working. Will hear back from them in a few days and will update. Thank you all so far. This has been a frustrating experience. I was really looking forward to using my new build this weekend :(
