Thats pretty neat man, I've never hunted with a crossbow before. And I actually know very little about it, say with a 165lb draw like that does it knock the dear down?

Never used one either but my son loves his. This is my first one. I have always used my 12 gauge here in Ohio.

A well placed shot with an arrow from that will easily kill a deer.

As a proficient bow hunter, arrows/bolts don't have knock down power.
What you aim for is suffocation, or blood loss by double lung shots or hitting the heart.
Never cared for cross bows, they are cool, but I'll take my bow till I can't draw a bow any more. If the day comes I can't draw at least 40#, I'll get one. Shot a friend's and it just wasn't as fun. Was point and shoot. I do shoot my bows year round and even own a full compound target bow setup (another of my stupid expensive hobby's next to computer gaming and audiophile equipment), so I am kind of biased.
Unfortunately, I have to work the first and second, but after that I have nine days off. Slowest four days of work right here....

Well I got the Crossbow if that's what you want to call it. Shot it 4 times and string snaps leaving a hell of a welt on the side of my face. Apparently this has happened more than once with this bow. Feel bad because it was a gift from wife but it was sent back. Its going to be a while before I try another.

That really blows... Hope the welt on your face doesn't have coworkers asking "questions", and very minimal injury. Maybe you weren't destined to kill that dear???
