What's interesting is that I hadn't really ever heard of Colorful until I read the article. Im familiar with some it's other brands, but not the parent company itself.  There is a lot of PC stuff sold in the EU that we never even see here, even by the "big" manufacturers.

So the question is, are the products they make any good, or are they moving such volume because they're inexpensive?

Well I've heard of Gainward and Palit which are owned or controlled by Colorful. Gainward no longer has a USA presence. They are only in Europe I believe.

Gainward and Palit are brands (amongst others) of Palit Microsystems. Colorful has no sub-brands that I am aware of.

It states in the article that Gainward and Galaxy are both branded cards made by Colorful.   Both names I'm familiar with.

Gainward still does have a US presence. Amazon sells them. But there isn't the same level of brand recognition as there is for the big dogs.  It appears that Galaxy is the one fading away.  Can't find anything newer than a 600 series card. which the Gainward was available in the 900 series.

I remember looking at Galaxy cards when I was looking to upgrade to a 500 card.  The prices were good and the reviews were mostly positive, but I have a hard time buying from a new an unknown manufacturer.

I think they rebranded themselves as GALAX for some reason.
