I just got a new computer and I keep getting this error in device manager

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

this happens when I restart my computer, if I restart it again it will probably start working again... But sometimes not.

Does anyone know what to do about this? I tried 197.75 and 197.41 drivers and I still get the same problem.

So far there seems to be no problems when playing games.

I also have this error in Event Viewer

Performance power management features on processor 1 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware.

I don't know if that's because SpeedStep is disabled or not.

Here are my system specs.

wow, you went "full tilt boogie" on that thing, didn't ya? yeah the PPM notice in event viewer is normal because you have speed step off. If really bugs you, turn speed step back on.  I can tell you on m 480's on load I'm 974- 1030w easy. On your 43 Error, I would get driver sweeper, and remove the nvidia driver in Safe mode. reboot into safe mode again and install. Don't worry, it will install for both GPU's installed.  Just a note: You might want to invest in a better vented case for air circulation than the one you have.

That still didn't work, I'm gonna try a format/reinstall and see if that fixes it. I just hope it isn't a hardware problem :( I've already went through massive hardware problems with my last PC :(

try each GPU by itself for for a 24hr period to make sure its not one of the GPU's you on 2T on that 12gbs of memory right?   There is one more thing to try. Remove the Windows Driver to you NIC cards, and install the driver from your here: http://www.evga.com/support/drivers/default.asp?switch=2 .

Did you do a Windows update that gave you new drivers for the network card? This driver update has been causing this issue with SLi on some X58 boards. Easy fix is to go into device manager and then to the properties of the network card and roll back the driver.

EDIT: I had knew instead of new. Please forgive me StM.

Holy **** dude, I think that was it. I already reinstalled everything but skipped over that driver and so far so good. no problems yet. It's so weird that a network card driver would do this. I believe the driver is Realtek - Network - Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Yep, that's it.  I couldn't believe it either.  Thankfully the smart guys figured it out before I even installed so it was an easy fix.  If not for chizow and others I would have been pulling my hair out.  Just like you were doing.

The meds part isn't a joke tho. Now that I think about it, neither is him being old and not thinking straight.

I also have this problem w/evga SLI GTX470's on my Classy 760.

Wondering if this problem has remained gone for you for the past three weeks, and if you're confident that the NIC driver was actually the problem?

Firex's link to alternate drivers no longer works ... should I just try uninstalling current drivers (which are Realtek from 3/4/2010 (7.17.304.2010)) and installing from the mobo CD?

    TIA
    brett

Edit: went ahead and rolled back to an older realtek nic driver on machine from 2009/05.  See if it fixes the error code 43 I keep getting on bootup.  Will report back the results for posterity.

It's been a few days, and I've not seen this issue since rolling back the realtek NIC drivers.  Looks like it was indeed the problem.
