The only reason i posted in this thread is to show my 24/7 clock was stable. But now you guys are going to make me take my rig and a jacket, go out to the garage and freeze my ass off just to be a Air celebrity

LOL hey everyone...no expedision i did not leave the country with the DO that CKY KINDLY shipped to me...but the chip didnt work either...so I am either ordering a classy monday and RMAing the LE or I am just going to suck up the wait and just RMA the LE...BUT I think that I am going to get the classy and just build another i7 rig... NOW THAT WE HAVE THAT OUTTA THE WAY... I will address the issue we seem to have on topic here now...remember WHY I started this thread everyone..."This is a club for the EVGA community for those of us who love and enjoy to OC our core i7 CPUs. It is for those who wish to post their results and build our comminity to help others if need be in reaching a goal they wish to achieve with their rig." AND "[We are all here on these forums for a reason and that is to converse about things and give each other guidance and help for whatever need it may be." Now, the issue with the air vs. water "disagreement" we have going on I will honestly IMO is irrelevant to the purpose of this thread...To me there is no reason to split the list up between air and water users. Now before you flame me for saying that let me explain my opinion. I just don't see the purpose in splitting it up when ORIGINALLY we post our screenies and bragging rights to SHOW and HELP those in need of guidance and want of achieving an OC of 4 or greater with our experience or help. Look at the BASE of what I/WE have started here and again the sole purpose of this thread. BUT...I do listen to the voice of the people. I do want to listen to you all and your opinions of how to make things better for all of us on this thread. I dont like seeing people (like gvansly1 who has been here since somewhat the beginning) discouraged to post their new numbers due to the integrity of this thread not being up to its ORIGINAL standards. So in saying that...I want you alls opinions now... Give me in a subtle, calm, but affirmative explanation as to why we should split up this list. Because as I have said, I see no point in it. I am sure we can all agree that the segregation of the HT on and off is a legit format of this threads list. But I see no purpose of the air/water/phase change w/e you may have it being apart from each other. You are ALL reaching AMAZING clocks that I myself am wanting to achieve as well. Whichever path I choose to cool that 4.0+ clock down is my choosing. Regardless of how I will do it I am amazed and I guess you could say jealous of what you all have accomplished. So everyone please remember that we are all friends here doing what we love to do or just choose to do with our chips. Keep it clean and keep it fun. I have seen NUMEROUS of people in other posts all over this board refer people to us on this list telling them to ask any of us whatever it may be. So lets keep it that way... If ANYTHING...if we dont split up this list...I will GLADLY and WILLINGLY add to the list under yalls name if you are on water or not. How does that sound? I hope to rejoin you all soon with the new parts coming in and get this rig back up and running and give yall a run for your money lol....Take care everyone, KEEP IT FUN!!! SimC P.S.- THAT OFFICIALLY TOOK ME AN HOUR TO TYPE ON MY IPHONE, HOLY CRAP!!! LMAO

I have no problem keeping things as they are. That said, listing air or water as you suggested is cool. Perhaps a king of air and king of water? Just for those competitive overclockers. Most of us?

BDW_88 Dude your already hitting 80c @4.3 point the AC at it. I'm not sure what your saying. 80c is too high??? I'm sure you know, that is with LinX. 4315.X MHz (206) has been my 24/7 since around March. For this thread, I was pushing LinX Load temps: 98,98,92,91 @ 4399.X MHz (210). Now that's even a little too hot for me. ummmmmm if I went back to H20 and I do have the same batch as awalleyeguy (will you stop changing your avatar ) I could......naaaa it's still not worth it to me. I change hardware wayyyy to much.... Now I think it will be worth it when the next line a of CPU's come out... Please don't think I bad mouthing H20. I'm just play'in around and If I'm way off base with your comment ....sorry. no you edit your message 33 mins later.....I guess I'm an ass......I thought you were joking, just did know for sure.....

expedision I think it's obvious who's on water or air with real temp being in your ss that you have to post. That being said i would highlight in red the top w/c and top a/c post. Stole from Taloman. Only the #1 slot gets their entry in RED, signifying they are our current Big Dog. Sometimes I don't think its so obvious whos on air or whos on water. One guy had really low load temps but his ambient was 58 F. I think people should update their sig profiles and be as descriptive as possible for the benefit of those of us that are curious about how our temps compare. Running your ram at 1600 vs 1066 will probably have a drastic difference in core temps. I for one would like to know details like uncore frequencies and such..

I recently made some changes to my rig including a new SSD and some other things.. I decided to try to work on my OC some since I did have an astrerisk next to my name being one of the first to do this using 0.6.3 Linx.. Anywho, Here is my new clock in which I will likely be working on more in the near future but figured could get my name on the list clean, haha! 4209MHz 1.35625v 37-34-35-30 81-75-74-70 http://www.theafterlifels...bum/rona/Stability.png

We can usually ferret-out the Air and Water systems but it can take a lot of time and mouse-ing around, so it would be a whole lot easier if it was part of the data. I'm ambivalent about being segregated into Air and Water. But I ]don't understand highlighting the top dog in some other color. Seems a bit garish to my aesthetic. I can already tell they're top dog since they are on top; although, maybe highlight them in green since I am quite envious at times. There certainly is a lot of camaraderie in the thread, and some anger, and some laughs and serious horsing around. It's nice to see Gvansly1 back cause I wanted to see his new SuperPi numbers.

gvansly1 I woulld like to see your new Super PI 1M figure. Since I don't game, I sort of keep track of that number, something like GFlops. I'm wondering if Super PI wanders around like LinX GFlops. Although I like the cpu clock number, I'm kind of looking for an analytic as simple as LinX as a good measure of prospective system performance as a function of our clock rate, since I don't have GPU's. I'll take another peek at your Mod Rig when you get it updated. grd003..... I just updated my Mod Rig with new scores. SimC33..... You have me on the list as Gnansly (should be Gvansly1) please update with new overclock as shown below THANKS! And Thanks to Linuxrouter for the final tweaks to get her stable. This is the CPU's limit, does not play well any higher. I have to go to 4.462 to get down to 9.062, mem speed 1680, 7-8-7-21. Mysteries, I say, mysteries.
