i know i should post this here but the 20 times run with linx really isn't enough to confirm a cpu's stability. just putting it out there. atleast 100 times should be sufficient. peace

You should update LinX with the new Linpack binaries... Your system isn't fully stressed with the 0.6.4 binaries. Look: your 5.2GHz chip took 15 more minutes than my 4.0GHz chip to complete the exact same test. But careful, the newer binaries push the heat on the next level... My temps got up by 8-12°C along with my GFLops up by 20-25!

OMG EleSSaRBLS, that much OC W/6-core and only 54Gflops? I can beat that at 4GHz W/4-core! Something is wrong there! You should be up around 70Gflops.

I cannot find a newer version of LinX than 0.6.4. I can find new LinPack and downloaded from Intel, but I don't know how to use them; nor am I willing to waste a day trying. If anyone has a link to a newer LinX executable, let me know please. EDIT: I have been searching for LinX downloads, and I cannot find a new one. Pardon me if I am wrong, but the one I found was the old one I downloaded a year ago and has old engine binaries. So I went to the Intel site, downloaded the newest LinPack binaries, replaced the ones in the zip file, and am offering this download (for Windows 32 or 64 bit), in an easy one-click format, hosted by my Corporate site. For obvious reasons I am not posting the link here, PM me and I will PM you back with it. The technical details: LinX update: LinX 0.6.4 with Intel® Math Kernel Library – LINPACK Download from Windows package Latest as of 1/10/2011, from w_lpk_p_10.3.0.003.zip New LinPack binaries: linpack_xeon32.exe dated 9/28/10 4:49am linpack_xeon64.exe dated 9/28/10 4:49am

That's more like it Temps went up a good notch, for you too, I see. About the new LinX, there's no new LinX but there's a newer Linpack from Intel. Just drop the 32 and 64bits EXEs from the newer Linpack archive in your Linx folder and you're good to go. Higher GFlops and Hotter Temps guaranteed.

Well, well, the gang's all here! I did not know about the "new LinX Binaries" or whatever, so I am posting a meager 4.315Mhz Core i7 920 clocking and Club qualification run, for what it's worth. I'm sorry but I don't have time to go searchin' all over the internet for new LinX threads and content...thought that 0.6.4 was the latest LinX, my bad... SimC33, I left you a PM about this being Rig No.3 of mine, so please don't confuse it with anything else...It is what it is...my 3rd Folding@Home rig and it does 24/7 @ 4210Mhz, but for this assembly here I upped its clock a bit and that is all she wrote. Anyway, have a good week and may the Force be with all of you overclockers here... rexrzer77
