I thought this was an i7 975 thread, I guess most of the people in here just dont have the money for one. That’s really the problem with most forums...you get a bunch of 1/2 best over lockers talking down everybody, or sucking up to someone who has a great post. Remember...CBGPCS has been #10 world rank over at HWBOT. We are not amatures Would love to see everyones world rank??????????????????

custombuiltcomputers What are the benefits?? When companies that run FEA analysis software are taking up to 14 to 16 hour per simulation, these runs can now be done in about 5 hours @ 5Ghz or better. We have been delivering 5Ghz 24/7 units for over 3 months now and are saving tons of time for the companies running these types of software. We don't need a sales pitch hawking your silly product. We already know what to do with our systems. If you want to place ads in the EVGA forums, I suggest you contact their sales department. The only thing you have accomplished here is to alienate an otherwise receptive audience. And the rest of you folks, there are many, many, many and even more than enough threads on cooling. Enough of this stuff. Okay? You are not advancing the art of tweaking the CPU and motherboard. We know that if you cool to zero then the engineering solutions change, but if you haven't noticed in all your self-praise chest pounding, not many people are asking questions about what to do with Vtt and its relationship to memory performance when running at -10c.

Sorry if you guys have not figured out how to achieve it ****** WARNING - THREAD DERAIL ***** That is one sad attitude you got there man. #1 - the 975 is nothing special, and this has been proven time and time again by actual professional overclockers so many times. #2 - who cares about some ranking. I've seen people posting better results on forums than many results on HWBOT but never ranking them on HWBOT or anywhere else. Really a lame attempt at belittling everyone. #3 - you clearly have no clue on how to run a business. I swear I ought to put this over on XS and we'll see how many customers you will get then. Word of advice, refrain from posting back. Oh and...good on you for knowing how to "have rock solid 5GHz 24/7". We're not interested, though we would appreciate if you let us know who is doing calculations with your system so we can put them into the failed analysis pile. ****** END THREAD DERAIL *****

wow!....it's like that around here... everyone in here is competing. period. example: if your in the middle of the pack...you first 4ghz post is an achievement. (you feel all warm and fuzzy inside) your next round of attempts are to improve...why? because you see 4 people above you with the same setup doing just a bit better than yours. after a week..you best those scores and start feeling like a real champ!. here comes those same people you bested...trying to best your new set of scores.... it went from getting 4ghz stable to a competition..... sorry, but everything in these forums is a basic competition...just the way they all work.....true, they help allot of people in a way like no other..but you have allot of people from all over the world with completely different views on how things should go....

isn't it like that everywhere? guys are naturally competitive. I know I look at it like, you got the same X58, 295's and 920. Its time to get creative. I am a hardware guy myself. Now I am going to put this on my to-do list, but have no fear, I do not have a golden CPU. you only need 4.01GHz to qualify correct?

custombuiltcomputers CBGPCS has been #10 world rank over at HWBOT. We are not amatures We know you're not "amatures", so why are you behaving like a load of market stall spivs ? The claims you are making would be laughable, if you were not charging money for it. The fact that you are brings any good name that you may have built up in the past, firmly into disrepute. You don't say what temps were being reported by Real-Temp, so when you do your 8hr run, please show us Real-Temp opened from the begining of the run. There is a reason for asking this. Pictured below is my 8hr OCCT run, as you can see Real-Temp got as high as 1c during that time. So the reason is, i know what your claim is and i also know exactly what my SS is tuned for. If as you claim, yours is tuned for 350w, then it must follow that your Real-Temp reading will be well below mine. I look forward to being proved wrong, but somehow, i don't think so.

johnksss we don't want yours...we want our own!!!!... I know Seriously though, the SS was a beautifull bit of work by Johann to start with. So modding it to take the heatload from an i7 was a fairly painless exercise. Even before the mods, it held my E8600 under full load at -42c. So you can see, it was a good candidate to try with an i7 at a high clock/load.

Does the turbo boosted clock count? I see a lot up there with 190-191x21. I can reach 4.0 with turbo boost fairly easily. So if i round all the information together will it count?

awalleyeguy Well I have to update. Ya know I just like overclocking. BTW no phase and no chiller. awalleyeguy Core i7 920 BATCH# 3845B027 HT OFF CPU clocked at: 4881.0 MHz Voltage: 1.68 with Vdroop 1.62 load Idle temp: 23,19,23,18 Load temp: 69,65,65,59 Yikes!!!! Gratz... great job there!!! Are you sure the ambient was 45*f? Because your temps are almost lower than mine and I was using -20*c water and less Vcore!
