OK... So Date: April 13th noon(a Saturday), through April 23nd (a tues) 12 noon Correct? Who is going to contact Rob to get the banner going??? We have a lot of folders doing great work this month. Heck a record breaking month!!! I would love to make sure they know... We added a lot of new folders the past few months that have never experienced this event. I suggest a post to be made, outlining the intent of the event, with a notice of "Keep the complaints out of this thread" kind of comment. To help keep the thread positive... These changes deserve our support, assuming the calculations are fair for all.

The starting date for the 2013 CC will be April 13th at Noon, Pacific Daylight Time through to April 23nd (a tues) 12 noon Final confirmations will be made this week(fri) on everything Banners? EVGA or Members want to design it? People can submit some - I'll work on One Myself As for Rob - I can contact him when I have final confirmation from Capt Thread PM's or mass Email blast(EVGA help)? I remember last year - I managed over 1200 PM's Myself - lots of work if we go that route I'll need other people to help I'll also start a new thread for the OFFICIAL CC thread I'll also post in the Folding and DC section and General Sections to notify Members

I wouldn't count on any help from EVGA the company. We didn't get any help last year after many attempts and delays.

I was goofin around and made a rough image, not sure what team name we are using if any from all the different comments suggestion etc. So I just threw something together just for fun. Any ideas or suggestions are definitely welcome. Doesn't have to be an official logo, just might be something I will use. EDIT: tweaked a couple things..... think its done now

Excellent design Krunch...you the man!!! PS: If the Team is "in" for this year's CC, I'll be able to help next Tuesday to do whatever we need (sending IM's, etc). I have my (3) grandsons coming tomorrow and will be totally consumed by "Papa...lets go do..." for the next (4) days.

I looked through my PM history and the 2012 CC pages (as many as I could) and couldn't find last years CC Invitation that we used. I figure we could dust that off, include the changes that are pertinent to this years CC and use it as a template. Anyone have a copy of last year's CC letter/message of invitation?

Nice job AB) EVGA will probably want to fashion the message themselves and there is no guarantee that the banner will be used by EVGA ...they may use their own Nice job 415krunch Im also going to post the announcement sometime today - once I have some time to complete everything The sooner we start mobilizing the better

Axipher is running the stats right from stanfords files (NOT EOC) he can do hourly updates but I think were using 2hr because some of the teams requested a less frequent update

Here is a PM form 2010: Date Sent Thursday, April 22, 2010 9:01 PM From pgmoney To SniperOZ,ProtectedVoid, codebluetoo, pistolkilla, EVGA members, we need your support for the Chimp Challenge 2010! Last year was team EVGA's first chimp challenge for folding @ home. We came in 2nd place behind OCN. In a effort to make sure EVGA is the winner I am writing to ask for your support. We need every possible GPU, and CPU to fold for us here at EVGA to make sure we take the crown as the best team in 2010. For help getting setup if it's your first time or even as a refresher please see the EVGA folding forums section. All you need to do is download a client and follow one of the easy guides in our forums to set it up, and fold under user name EVGApes team # 111065 EVGA F@H CC10! - What is The Chimp Challenge? The Chimp Challenge happens once a year usually around May 5th: Rules are pretty simple. Each team gets a group of members together and folds for thier team under 1 name ours is (EVGApes). Name is usually monkey / team name related. The object is to see which team can reach a specific point number first. Last year was 20,000,000 points. The prize for winning this contest is the jaded monkey, which is displayed like a trophy of honor in your forums signature or on the team web site. The losing team is forbidden to display it. In the end it makes Folding@Home more interesting as we jump onto a single username to beat the other teams. If you are not familar with what folding at home is for. Here is a short refresher: Did you know that your EVGA graphics card has the potential to fight disease? While the notion might seem far fetched the possibility is real with the help of the Folding@Home Distributed Computing Program. Created by Stanford University this program has been developed to utilize the computing power of your, and everyone elses, graphics card to do help Stanford with their goal: to understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases. Diseases like Alzheimer's, Mad Cow, CJD, ALS, Huntingtons, Parkinsons disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes. By joining the EVGA folding team you too can help with this noble cause. We are adding some random prize drawings for the chimp challenge, you can see the list grow each day in the folding forums here at EVGA. Please help us with whatever you got and you can always look for support from team EVGA folding forums. Just post a thread and many of us are willing to help you out to get you up and folding. I did send some short repeats out as well(to some members that I didn't see folding) and the message changed on some of them (since you only send to 5 members and I couldn't do them all at once... it changed all the time - and short to reduce typing and cutting/pasting) others had different messages We were counting EVGA for the EMAIL BLAST and banner last year Anyways either Punchy or myself will make out a detailed PM and it will be sent out nothing like last year - I'll make sure we have a banner in it as the date and a friendly invite with what the CC is I'll also change it up for the posts to include what F@H is... in the general forums so we can bring new members in I'll post a sample tonight here WOW EVGA made their own Banner...Im still wondering what Up with the "Delivers" part Suprises inbound?

Huge thank you to Rob and those who helped him. How awesome is this! They not only gave us space that is usually reserved for advertising their products, they got it up within hours of us asking if they would be willing to do it! The "Delivers" portion... That is two fold... - It links to our thread (That we need to fill so PM me with the info we should place in it!!!) showing that we deliver the goods baby! We are breaking records and killing cancer.
- Surprises yet to come.
- Could that be dethroning [H]?
- Could that be prizes?
- Could that be a win in this years CC challenge?

OK Im posting - the general CC post for review Maybe I messed up something or need to add something - please post corrections/suggestions -------------------------------------------- [put Banner here] A hearty welcome to all EVGA members and staff for the wonderful year we have had to date Another year has come and gone and time for another Chimp Challenge is here What is the CHIMP CHALLENGE? It's a friendly yearly contest we run between some of the top folding teams. It's done to spur awareness and growth for FOLDING@HOME, while at the same time garnering a friendly get-together between the teams. It helps build bridges/friendships between the teams. What is FOLDING@HOME? To make it easy for some to understand - it's using your excess (or full) computer time to find cures using the CPU and /or graphic cards to find Cures. A Proper Description can be found here http://folding.stanford.edu/ What is required to enter? Just setup folding at Home with your own Username and Team number 111065 Folding@Home software https://fah.stanford.edu/...nstaller_7.3.6_x86.exe if you want to run SMP you'll need to get a passkey from stanford and prime it with 10 SMP units before you can earn Bonus points passkey information here http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-passkey passkey request here http://fah-web.stanford.e...in/getpasskey.py if you have questions on how to setup please visit the EVGA folding section Guides here http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinGuide post questions here http://forums.evga.com/tt.aspx?forumid=28 for Existing Folding members We have dropped using Chimp Names this year (so we don't have to switch client names) - just bring your machine to bear - as much as you can afford to do or are able to bring We ask that as many of our Current Folding and DC members please get out and participate this year in the Chimp Challenge and Help win back the Jaded Monkey this year. I'll be setting up the stats system, as I said, for my usual 25 min. past the hour hourly pulls, so if troy8d or anyone else want's to set up the tracking/display page, that will be awesome. Should be able to get a working prototype up and running this weekend, for sure. We're ONLY worried about points and not WU's this time around, correct? (figuring out how much I need to pull for data.) d

Xavier Zepherious One final note refrain from engaging in posts in this thread to discourage folders or members from participating or ranting about past contests. The goal is to grow the folding @ home community and get beyond the problems of past contests and have a fun time while delivering science and possible cures for mankind I'd either edit or drop this particular note as it seems to assume that people would "want" to discourage other Folders and sets a negative tone itself. It just doesn't sit well with me and sounds rather presumptuous. Just because someone has a beef with a contest (past or present) doesn't mean that they have intent to "discourage" Folding or others.
