however Team participation will have to improve in the CC forums in the future.
 
No sense holding votes when not even 50% are present
and if you do it should be unanimous(majority vote out of the 8)
so like 4 voting out of 8 for the same thing
 
I feel uncomfortable holding votes and pushing formula rules the majority had no say in or a vote in.
all that leads is to teams that feel left out, cheated, not part of process, and feel like the other teams are trying to pull one over them.
 
 
 

If we had waited for that, we would wait forever. TSC hasnt been on the forum in a month. ChrisK from HWC popped in to talk about the website this last week but that was it. Since Adak stepped down, no one from OCF has come to the forum. None of the other teams are responding or even show that they care. I suggested on there, that something of a rule be put into effect that if a team does not actively participate in the CC thread that they are knowingly acquiescing to all decisions made by the other captains and are forfeiting their right to vote. Waiting forever will get us only more delays. I understand not everyone wants to argue about the system but the least they could do is check in every few days to ask how things are coming.

this is exactly why I think the CC forums fail
either we use it(and that measn everyone signs in on a regular basis - to keep up and vote) or we drop it and talk directly to the other teams publically and do it that way

 
 
I understand. Personally, i think there should be a requirement for participation. Maybe threaten eligibility of entering? The CC forum is a good idea, I just wish the other captains could check in once in a while just to let us know what's going on. Did you see my post in the Announcement thread about the prizes?

just that if no one shows up we go to each team's forum and bring it up. if one fails go back to basics (talking directly to the team)

Yes I did.  if the team wants prize - then we should make up a donations page and rules for eligibility for it

if I remember troy had Us make up screen shots with a web based day timer

in order for you to be elibilble you had to make up screen shots of your folding with EVGApes during the contest

 
Hey hang on I shouldnt have used the word threaten. I dont know. Its something that I really dont want to worry about right now. 
As for prizes, I havent heard too many people ask about them, but Ill post it and see what people want.

I had a thought.... What if we set a team goal during this years CC to beat the current Number One position on team EVGA? it is currently @ 533,000,000 ish...

What, you mean all of us together fold >533 mil? Hmm that would be tough. Last time I added up the total PPD, we were somewhere around 3mil PPD, We need a lot more people.

seems we need a big recruiting drive...maybe a number of crunchers from a team or two doing friendly stopover during the contest would help.

Keep in mind that EVGA is looking into possibly a banner, and has already offered to PM or Email all members for us!

Now that is some welcome news!  It took us several days last year (with several volunteers) to send out IM's (5 at a time) to all the people we had on our list, and that wasn't all EVGA members I don't think.  I hope that we told whomever at EVGA "yes, please do send out those PM's/emails for us"!

I would say in the first post of the "Official CC Announcements" thread, bullet 3 of the "Here's how you participate" part.

Chat is a "must" for CC...otherwise where are we gonna fling poo real-time?
 
For me, I wouldn't care where the Chat was setup, just so it was there...
 
On another note, did the location for the Stats get resolved?  Last time I read anything about that, HWC was checking with their web-guy to see if he could run it again for us like last year.   Just saw you update over in the Official CC thread.

I don't have much time right now to check for updates, but if anyone IS interested in using my hourly .xml to create an hour to hour site, it's being uploaded to http://drougnor.thedeadcat.net/chimp2012.xml

Included is the latest time/date stamp and the 9 teams and their current points totals.

I've also already created and activated my hourly history site, so if anyone wants access to the data table on that to create charts, let me know, and I'll share the google doc to you.

Should have answers to when the email blast will go out tomorrow.  The art team is currently making the banner (for the forums).  Ideally, I'd like it up for the weekend.

This is terrific to have this help from EVGA in getting the message out.  It is just another fine example of the caliber of company that I have come to know and love over the years. 

415krunch, I'm liking that Sig-Banner that you made for CC.  We need to get that over into a Sig-Banner thread or somewhere people can grab a copy and show their participation.  Excellent graphic!!  You might consider making it available in a couple sizes due to people's varying sig-size and inventory of icons.
