I think in fairness to the organizers, they dropped the ball only because it was expected that EVGA would catch it (looking at posts about a week before the 15th). It looks as if they were going to organize pm teams to get the word out, but it would be easier for EVGA do mass email it out. We still have 7 days left in this, so maybe they could go ahead with the PM's... I don't think EVGA works on weekends and unless they can mass-email something before close of business today, we're going to miss out on a weekend of notification opportunity.

lets stop any fingerpointing and just have fun guys in all fairness we did what we could - seeing we had a short time to prepare to get members out EVGA had told us they do a Email blast (they also did the banner and the stickies) - that would have resolved the contacting people issue I had asked (and so did devdog) for the CONTEST PM LIST to NO AVAIL so I could pm them myself... we even had people that were willing to do it (a bunch of us)... but with evga saying they do it..and it go to their home email - rather than relying on people to log into the forums it was the better solution if people can't see the banner - or read the forums.(and check PM's) I don't see anything we could have done anyways other than the Email blast from EVGA...and we had no confirmation that happened. if the team would just get involved the numbers would come up. the nature of the contest puts us in a place to actually compete (and come from behind) and win if we find some drive/spirit and some bonding... like I said have fun, go to the IRC channel ...show our hairy butts to the crowd and give them some moons to look at winning is nice... but Id rather have the team bond, get some spirit, grow and get focused again like [H]. This is the perfect chance to mend fences and rebuild the team....so lets use it that way...okay

troy8d Opolis Not surprised. After reading a bit of the argument over the points system this year I could tell it was a lost cause. We just had to accept whatever other teams wanted and participate for our own enjoyment. I have been ignoring the adjusted stats, now I might do the same with raw folding points. Losing with honor FTW! You are wrong here. The reason EVGA is not performing well in the stats is because there was very little effort by our team leaders to get people on board or involved in the contest. This is most evident in the fact that at the start our production this year is about half of what it was last year. Though we have increased slightly since then, we haven't even been able to accomplish what we did last year. By any standard of fairness, we should not expect to be doing well in the standings. From what I seen the team leaders did all they could.Remember non was even sure there was going to be a CC 3 weeks before start.Theres only so much 2 or 3 ppl can do . Here is what I seen #1 was coming up with a format for the contest, that got done like what about a week before start.#2 Evga Admin saying they would do email that did not happen,There where members saying they would do PM's.That did not happen because of #2 . #3 hats off to EVGA for banner but you got to log on forum to see it.So here we are slowly getting ppl to changing over to EvgApes So in the end there is no one to blame but lack of time . Team leaders are doing and did a really good job. Learn from this year for next year.We got some of the brightest and talented ppl in the world here. Gain new folders,I am one of them in Dec.I started could fold 11k ppd on a good day.Now I can hit 60k PPD and shooting for 100k or better . I really could care less if we win lose or draw.I love telling ppl that I am working on cure for insert what ever protein i am folding or crunching. Yes winning is nice but that is not why we fold. So in the end lets just fold are asses off and stop the blame game. Sorry for rambling post there is a reason why I been here from 07 with a low post count my writing sucks But I do read forums a lot. Edit XZ you type faster then I do

I didnt mean to cause dispute. I only meant that I have not been checking the stats and just folding for fun. I enjoy the CC no matter what the layout, it's just too bad we don't have more teammates switching over to EVGApes this year.

First we have a member of [H] coming into these forums claiming it's OK to manipulate the system as long as you tell Stanford about it , and now it's pretty evident they have members who can't stand to see EVGA on top of anything. That's the Thanks our members get for YEARS of AMAZING CONTRIBUTIONS? Unreal, just Unreal. I think we are seeing the real reason our numbers have been declining as of late (and it's nothing internal). Try to help a cause and somehow it's held against you, Amazing place this World... These same people probably wonder why we have so many problems as a Species, maybe it's time to look in the mirror.

Allow me to clarify, I was not intending to criticize anyone putting effort into helping make this contest happen. First of all, no one else wanted to step up and take on the enormous challenge that it is too coordinate the Chimp Challenge. They took on the task because no one else was willing or able and as such they should be commended for that and not be criticized by those doing nothing. In addition to that, they all have jobs, lives and responsibilities other than this to attend to. I think it was really EVGA that let the team down because we were led to believe that they would step in and help us out. Clearly we were not a priority, and ended up in a tough position because of it. EVGA can organize things much more effectively with the user base of these forums than we as individual users can, thus it made sense to let them provide the assistance we were led to believe was coming. This precluded any homegrown effort, because it seemed unnecessary to duplicate efforts. The short timeline certainly played a factor, but was not a deciding factor. The contest format is not to blame either. It was made clear from the start that total production is not the only metric by which the contest winner will be judged. Producing a winning team for the current format takes a lot of coordination and effort and hats off to the teams that are out there getting it done this year!

actually it's easy... just start with with the top of the team list http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_list.php?s=&t=111065 there are those folding under their own names still starting with: highfiver ChainDog OLD-SLO-GAMER rexzer ...etc this will only help if they log into EVGA and have allow PM's to be received if they requested no emails for PM's we have to wait till they log into EVGA to get message - and then they can see the banners and read the forum anyways. if on the other hand they allowed pms to be sent via regular email - it's a bonus then the regular email viewing might catch them I'll start PM'ing the top 100 today who want the next 100 and so on

I certainly mean no one any harm in my comment... It is purely personal... This is why I help our team. All we can do is what we can do. Spending any energy with other teams has proven beyond any doubt to be a waste of time and our own production. To heck with the other teams. Our problem is we do not care how big is team is or is not. We are happy to help. However, when your the proven world champion, they will only go for your knees as they five face you each way to Sunday... Let us do what we do. Crunch, Fold, Game, Mod, Joke, Help and above all else Default or Death. I for one am damn proud of all of you. Even those the contests turned away. I hope they too come back and rejoin their brothers and sisters. Because in the end... What ever we do or do not do is on us, not them.

Wow, great job XZ, I will start with 1000-1100. Do you mind sending me what you've been sending out? I can make up something generic I guess, but I'd like to say more like a "just incase you haven't heard" incase I PM someone that's already folding under EVGApes. Are you PM'ing the grey'd out names also?

just so everyone knows I been Pm'ing even inactive ones (yes greyed out) Ive been trying to get everyone - even long past folders back it's just time consuming to do - that's all - and I really don't mind even if we don't win we might bring old folders back and get the team enthusiastic again so everyone that can help out and see how many old and new users we can bring in
