I'm currently running a dual monitor setup on my GeForce GTX 1080, an Asus PG 348Q and a VG248 through display port.  The Pg348q is set as the primary screen but during boot up no picture of the bios shows only on the vg248 then @ the sign in screen does it switch back to the main screen.  Is this a vbios problem or the order in which the display cables are plug in the video card.  The way I understand the order is as follows - VGA, DVI 1, DVI 2, HDMI, DisplayPort. This seems silly to me as it should really be the other way around!  I’m guessing a custom VBIOS flash....

Check your card, the 1080 cards have one DVI, 3 Displayport and 1 HDMI output. Just swap monitor cables in the card output till the correct one comes up at boot. Then assign your primary in windows.

There is no custom VBIOS in existence which will change the display boot order.  It is a hard fixed hardware thing which you cannot change.

As the other user recommended, connect the monitors in the order necessary using adapters or whatever to make them display in the proper order you want to see them boot up.  Or simply ignore it.

    ASRock Z77 • Intel Core i7 3770K • EVGA GTX 1080 • Samsung 850 Pro • Seasonic PRIME 600W Titanium
    My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill

The boot order for monitors connected to Nvidia cards is: VGA, then DVI/HDMI (newer cards it is interchangeable), then DP.

If both of the monitors are DP, simply swap the connections on the video card around.

As previously stated, there isn't a VBIOS to change that.

Edit: you can get an adapter to make both monitors plug into the DP connections if need be. Depending on your resolution you may need an active adapter.

Thanks, will try the cable swap and see how it goes, I know there are 3 Display port connections but not sure if there was a primary one or not as there is a DP, HDMI DP and DP on the back of the card
