As many of you know my daughter fought cancer in 2009 when she was 13 and is fine today and 19. At that time I started pushing Folding@Home on a website and friend and I run, Bjorn3D.com.

Now I have been diagnosed with cancer and since Folding@Home helps do work fighting cancer and other disease battles I am having a contest again next month.

The contest is you must Fold@Home for team 41608 which is the Bjorn3D team. Your goal is to Fold for the Bjorn3D team.  For every 500,000 points you will get one entry.  At the end of the month we will have a drawing for a GTX Titan Black going to first drawn, second drawn gets the GTX 780TI 3rd drawn gets an EVGA 1600W Power Supply. The only rule is you must live in the USA or have a USA shipping address.

The contest will run from October 1st to October 31st.

You can check team status here: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.c...php?s=&t=41608

You can get the Folding Client here: http://folding.stanford.edu/

NOW DO NOT WORRY ABOUT Prod_Eng_Tesla-Stephanie. That is our Tesla rack that is Folding in my daughters
name and does not count in the contest.

There will be a thread on our Facebook page that you can post on with your Folding name at the start of the
contest.

You can start Folding now if you wish to tweak your machines and see if rig can do it. Good luck to all and I will promote more as we get closer to October.

I love the idea of what you are doing here, but I got to ask, are you holding back some hardware right now?  There are a lot of folders on the EVGA team that pump out 160k PPD easily.  I would consider switching my soon to be completed 3 GTX770 rig over for October for this and it would pump out about 300k PPD.

Not holding back at all.  Whoever does the most points over the month of October will be the winner, with the next person being in second place and the next after that in 3rd place.

I'm up for this as I have not had a good reason to switch back from crunching.
My 7950's all together can put out an estimated 350k-400k PPD depending on the wu's!

All of my hardware should be back in Korea when I get there, and some more to add to the loop. Enough so, that I may be able to run 4 systems at once with dual gpu in each. Hopefully I can get everything up and running so that I can verify everything works properly.

Good deal. Sorry EVGA, I am not in it for the prizes he is offering, but I will divert my folding for the month of October. It's for a good cause. :-)

I believe the deterministic nature of your prize scheme will turn away many folders. Why don't you do something like "Fold for Bjorn3D team in October for more than X points, and you will be entered in a drawing. For each X points, you will have an additional entry."? X can be, idk, 3 million points...

This way, may more folders will join in because they will know they have a shot ;)

That was almost exactly what happened in the time zone challenge. All of the top folder won the prizes it seemed. Some of them even turned their prizes down.

*edit* my 4770k system is chugging along at 4.5k ppd... No, that isn't good, if you read what I wrote, lol. Windows did an update and now my ppd tanked. Gotta figure out what happened.

Sorry EVGA... Just moved over to team 41608 for a few weeks.  :-) I will finish the work units the night prior to the start, and then start folding day of.  :-) Hopefully there is a big turnout for this cause.

I wanted to bump this, to get other users attention to this cause, more than to the giveaway.  I pulled over from the EVGA line for this month, and will fold for you over this next month as well, to help get your cause recognized.  I hope more people will help you out as you have requested.

So far, I have been able to nudge out 5.5m points for your team this month alone.

My gtx 980 will be here tomorrow, should be enough time to have it going full force by the first. Might leave the old gtx 470 in there too for a little extra. As long as the drivers play nice. I'm coming to get you, all of you

Passkey should be fine, I think all you need to do is change team number. Just don't forget where your home is.

As Mentioned by Notfordman, all I did was change the team number and it added a third line of communities that I fold for.  Very easy to do.

    Short Derp moment ahead:

While waiting for my x99 parts to arrive, I had a buddy ask to buy Little Brother.  Of course I say, but I have already sold the power supply, unfortunately and only have this EVGA 1300G2 that is still in the box.  He says, I will order a 750 G2, so can I borrow the spare you have temporarily, since they will have the same cables, and we can switch them out.. Of course, I say, then unplug the power supply to Older Brother, and take the power cable since it was easier to reach than the one in Little Brother, and I run little brothers power cable to Older Brother... but never plug it in... So, I have been getting serious shut downs for 4 days now, and was trouble shooting and never thought to look at the back of the secondary power supply.. simply plug in the wall cable to the power supply and I am back online and folding again...
