The person who left the comment of "Who's the imitator?" wanna come forth and explain that to me?

Wooooo, I love weekends! USPS just dropped off the last crucial part! Thanks to listen to remix here on OCN, I was able to snag a brand new Gentle Typhoon AP-14 to help complete my system cooling overhaul after the coolermasters turned out to be a dude. Lets get cooling!

Thanks again listen to remix, great packaging job and fast shipping all the way from NY to the rockies!

Now that we finally have our last fan to keep *Night Fire* running cool under heavy gaming loads, lets get installed. But first, we gotta do something about that ugly yellow and red wiring as thats gonna look terrible inside our sleek black case interior. Time for ingenuity!

A little permanent maker and wallah, mucho better! Look ma, no sleeving!

Oh yeah, great cooling and utter quiet, what more could you want?

And a little bit more wiring cleaning to keep it all sharp....

Yeah baby! Flame on! Who needs the dwinky led coolermasters now anyway?

Tis beautiful no?

Allright, at last, all major mods have been done! Of course, being a case modder, I just had to think of something else I could add, just a little extra "bling" for that special touch. I'm contemplating ordering it, will keep you posted on what I decide!

Ok, well the one little idea for some added bling will just have to wait a bit, as its just a small tidbit to add to the case and im not in any great rush atm as its pretty cheap and don't wanna order it by itself

That being the case, I concluded that Project: *Night Fire* is officially done and just in time for Battlefield midnight launch tomorrow night! I've got a great new rig and now a kick ass personally modified case which I haven't done in years, and it was alot fun! Anxious to see what I come with next! In the meantime, im gonna enjoy some hard earned BF3 time looking at my sexy Asus ROG themed case!

Total budget including coolermasters fans which turned out to be a bust:

Paint: $8.50
Jigsaw Blades: $1.97
Window kit: $11.95
Red 5mm LED: $.50
12'' LED light strip: $18.94
Coolermaster fans: $32.97
Extra Gentle typhoon fan: $20
Asus decals: Free
eVGA GTX 570 backplate: $20

Total Cost: $114.83

I just sold and got $20 back from the coolermasters, that makes my total budget used around $94! I managed to do all this with less then $100, proving you don't need to spend alot to make a great case mod!

Without further ado, here are the final pics of *Night Fire*! Enjoy and thanks for your support and kind words!

very nice love the case, the only thing I would add is a couple of 3 buck fan filters to keep everything nice and clean

Re:Case rebirth Project: Asus ROG themed *Night Fire* 2012/03/02 19:15:23 (permalink)
While deciding on wether to move onto a TJ08-E case, I decided to do a few minor adjustments to "Night Fire"  First of all was to finally remove the 200m big boy Antec fan on top. I was still suffering from negative case pressure no matter what I did, trying to volt mod the fan didn't work worth a damn earlier and only by adding even faster or more intake fans was the only way to bring back positive pressure in the case which I really didn't wanna do. After months of dealing with all the dust being sucked in from ever single crevice around the case, I finally had enough and took it out.

Considering the amount of hot air I felt behind the case, even near the 120mm fan mount, I decided it was time to help exhaust that air out with a new AP-13 Gentle Typhoon to help exhaust out that warm CPU air while keeping the noise level down and keeping positive pressure within the case which was now possible without the 200m being a huge vacuum. The twin AP-14's are now able to be filtered once again to keep the dust and cat hair out because I am no longer needed maximum airflow from the front intakes since the 200mm bad boy is gone.

Oh, and I picked up a CE of Skyrim on sale, so I decided to have some camera lighting fun also.    I decided also to remove mine from the mod rigs, far far better/cooler rigs out there, I aint got nothing

Well after a long, tiring and dissapointed first hand experience with my new Silverstone TJ08-E, im very happily back with my Antec mini P-180 rebuilt and a bit more refined since I had it all apart.  I won't bother reposting my thoughts on the TJ08-E but heres link on my personal findings.

That being said, I did a few touch ups to "Night Fire" while it was apart. Following an earlier suggestion from someone here, I decided to take a black marker to all the wiring that was "non black" and cover it up to help go with the Red/Black/silver color theme within the interior of the case. I also added more silicon grommets to the Cavier Black to further reduce HDD vibration into the case. I also decided to remove the Antec Big boy 200mm after getting sick of dealing with the dust mess as a result of the negative pressure it was causing. I replaced it with a new Gentle Typhoon AP-13 for the rear exhaust to help pull away warm air away from the Dark Knight HSF.

Future plans are to possibly add more sound insulation to the panels, upgrade to a Kepler and maybe even a SSD as there's a perfect spot for one between the vid card and the intake fans.
