I am trying to get into the bios of my new P67 SLI. I've HIT Del and F2 a million times. It will just not enter the bios. No matter how many times when I hit either one of those button it just boots to windows. How the heck do you get into the bios? I must have rebooted and tried to get into the bios at least 20 times now and it just wouldn't let me into the bios...

Can you reset the CMOS using the button where the IO panel is on the back. Or hit the reset CMOS on the bottom of the motherboard. Then hit Del and try.

Yes I am. I think its because I enabled FASTBOOT and its not detecting my USB keyboard in time

Ok it was fastboot. I reset the cmos now I can get in. No more fastboot :-) Also is their a way to turn that BEEP off everytime your system boots?

No option to turn off the beep sound as far as I know. It's to tell you the boot was successful.

that work be the issue fast boot from what i understand doesnt launch all i/o ports at first. the onther thing i have noticed is usb keyboards will not work in usb3.0(to get into bios) since 3.0 doesnt load until windows does.

i use my g15 as my plug in point for my camera just because its on top of my desktop and easier to see. but yeah no reason for from a keyboard performance stand point.

Using a USB keyboard with the USB 2.0 ports located by the old PS2 ports should be useable for BIOS entry. Strange, if it does not work all kind of user complaints would be appearing on the forum.

Fast boot doesn't initialize USB until you get into windows.

So one would have to reset CMOS to enter BIOS, assuming they'd already choset fastboot?

Thanks for this great string. I had the same problem because I was tinkering and enabled FASTBOOT. Big mistake because I could not enter the Bios with USB keyboard after that. As recommended, I reset the bios to defaults (on the MOBO), used the keyboard "Del" function as normal and entered the bios. Thanks again, you never know when an old problem sneaks up almost 8 years later!
