I cannot get precision to save my GPU clock settings, or any settings for that matter besides the fan adjustments. Nothing has changed at all on my computer, but I tried to overclock just for giggles today and it would not apply any of the settings. No memory clock, no GPU adjustment, no voltage changes, nothing. Any ideas?

Can you elaborate? Because when you hit apply, you will not see the clocks stay at what you set because the cards do not stay at max clocks. Best to run a game or benchmark and look at what the clocks are in the graph.

    Welcome to the EVGA forums

If its really not saving your changes, then all you need to do is shutdown and then uninstall Precision.
*make SURE you answer ---NO-- during the uninstall to saving profiles and data.
REBOOT once after the uninstall is complete (do not skip this reboot)

Now reinstall (always the latest version) of Precision. Should fix you right up

When I check the graphs and when you are adjusting the clocks through the precision program, I used to be able to change the clocks to whatever I wanted, then hit apply and they would all save. Now I cannot change them at all and they just stay at default clocks no matter what I do.

Certainly sounds like Precision might have become corrupted...

This is why I suggested the uninstall process I posted
*it is -critical- that during the uninstall when the box pops up asking to save profiles That you answer -NO-
This is the only way to clear the corrupted files

So I did the uninstall, did the no save to any of the files, restarted and reinstalled. Still does not apply my clocks, any ideas?

Make sure you are using the latest version of Precision (currently v4.2.1)

Right click on the Precision launch icon and select "run as administrator"

When you hit Apply, it does not change the clocks immediately. After you hit Apply, the box to the right of the slider should show a number with a + sign to signify your offset. Until it's got a load, it will still show the idle speeds on the speedometer. Once under load, you should see your clocks go up to (base clock + boost clock (600/700 series cards) + offset). For example, one of my 760s idles at 135Mhz, jumps to 980Mhz under load, boosts to 1084Mhz, and my overclock is 125, so it hits 1209Mhz under load.

The best way to test this is to run OC Scanner in a window so you can still see Precision and watch your clock speeds. Also, what video card are you running?

Okay, I figured out what the issue was. Nvidia inspector multi display power saver was blocking me from doing any OC adjustments. Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it. I'm currently using a 550 btw.

EVGA Precision still does not save my overclocks after reboot. I'm running the latest version. Some forums have suggested that you need to reload the profile every time you restart, or always have Precision running in the background. Is this true?  Surely there's a way to make the overclock permanent like the CPU overclock. I have the EVGA 980Ti Hybrid. Since its liquid cooled I figured it would be ideal for overclocking. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you need to have Precision start with Windows for your overclock to be "permanent". The stock video card clocks are saved in the video card BIOS and the stock ones will load every time you restart your computer unless you have a program start with Windows and apply different clocks. The only way to truely make the overclock permanent without needing to load an overclocking program every bootup is to edit your video card's BIOS.

If you have issues saving profiles do the following:
    1. Change your sliders to the position you want, or type the values and then ENTER
    2. Click the Apply tab
    3. Right click a profile number to save it with the current applied settings. To change an existing profile, right click to unload it, then right click again to save it.
    4. Click the Default tab to delete all of the profiles.

    The profile number highlights mean
Dark - Profile is inactive. Right-clicking the profile number toggles it as Active or Inactive. When you hover over the profile with your mouse, the last stored values will show.
    White - Profile is active
    Blue - Profile is selected

The interface is confusing because right-clicking doesn't actually delete the profile as the tool tip says. I spoke to EVGA support recently and they said they were working on creating better documentation for this

Okay, I figured out what the issue was. Nvidia inspector multi display power saver was blocking me from doing any OC adjustments. Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it. I'm currently using a 550 btw.

This helped me solve the issue as well. The profile was saving everything but the Core Clock OC. I downloaded and ran the NVIDIA Profile Inspector and hit the "Restore current profile to NVIDIA defaults" and then hit Apply Changes.

I went back into Precision X1 and re-applied the clock > apply > Saved to my #1 profile spot. I then loaded #0 which is default and then reloaded #1 to verify that this time the clock setting restored as expected!

Not sure what was wrong or changed in the Nvidia profile or how it got that way, but thanks for sending me down the right path to get it resolved!
