i have 3way sli setup atm if i plug a soundblaster-z in the bottom port it lights up ect but not detected in bios/windows any ideas why?

    Which cpu do you have is more important. 5820k doesn't have use of the bottom lane.

    5960x is the cpu.

    the only way i could get my 3way sli working was 1/3/4 they cover all other pci-e slots but the very bottom 1 and no i have nothing else installed even in the m.2 sockets ect.

    yeah back when i was testing my sli issues i tested all pci slots 1 at a time all worked fine.

    Reset Cmos so its all default
     
    but it just says 6 is not present at all.

    Sorry I have old eyes and in this image you have the Sound Card installed in Slot 6?
     
    Set Slot 6 From Auto to Gen1 and then test to see if you see a card installed in Slot 6 in the Bios.
