Can we get a confirmation from EVGA that a Titan cooler for the GTX 970 is in the works?

Can we get an official response of whether one is being made right now, or if it's just a "We'll think about it"?

Jacob said something about it being hard to do that because of the PCB length.

If he really said that, Evga must be lazy because all they have to do is use the 980 reference PCB and cooler. It's been done already.

Okay, I know you guys are busier with bigger things like the 980 Classified, I don't blame you.

If you do happen to make it in the future, I suggest having an option for owners who bought the 970, to use the step-up program for, even if it has been past 90 days, since you haven't made it yet.

You can charge a good premium for these, and people, like me, are willing to pay them.

the GTX 970 ACX 1/2 models has a full PCB, but the blower models doesn't have a full PCB though

Considering the 970 reference card is ~$200 cheaper than the 980... I wouldn't expect them to change the pcb so they can put the titan fan on the 970, at least not without increasing the price, because it would almost be a 980 after that, lol!

@Jacob- Pleeeeeease look HARD at this. That titan cooler is ICONIC, and the dual fan look an EVERY graphics card now days is exhausting. (no pun entended)
@iNotorious- Very true, I'd also pay a premium.

@Nereus- Also very true.. and to think of it, if this new particular 970 didn't have increased clocks or anything, esencially just a base $329 gtx 970 with a titan cooler on it, being sold for $400.... even that... might actually be a tough sale for me... because thats... I guess there just doesn't seem to be any easy way to win :P We might as well all just BUCK up and buy the gosh darn gtx 980.... *SIGH*

    I would just like to chime in here;

Technically there is no "reference design" for the GTX 970, while it is true you can see an image on NVIDIA's website, that is simply a graphic, and not an actual card. If you want to be completely technical, the "reference" cooler for the GTX 970 is the same as the GTX 670/660.

In order to get the NVTTM cooler to fit on a GTX 970, the PCB would need to be longer, and would have to accommodate its design. While its not impossible, as EVGA is really good at making custom boards, it depends on how much business sense it makes, the NVTTM is relatively expensive to make compared to other designs.

I personally prefer blower style coolers for video cards, I think they look better and to me they make more sense. I was very happy to see that EVGA made a GTX 970 with a blower style fan.

    Primary System: Intel Core i7 3930K @ Stock ATM / 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz / Samsung 850 Pro 1TB / EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FE
    Test Bench/Folding Rig: Intel Core i5 3570K / 16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz / 1 Raptor 300GB + 1 TB WD Black / EVGA GeForce GTX 480 Superclocked (Or GTX 680 SC / GTX 770 SC / ???)

Im a NVIDIA enthusiast and welcome any questions.
Also if you cant find help feel free to send me a message, and I will do the best I can to help you.

@x_darklord_x: No its fine! No problem, its good for everyone to at least be aware of it so we don't get confused. Thanks :)

@iPoTaToEs: I'm in the same boat. I want my next built to have those coolers so I can custom paint them. 980s wouldn't be bad, but I'd much rather spend $688 for two 970s, than $1250 for two 980s that are only around 8% faster.... just doesn't make sense. Honestly, if 970s don't come out with titan coolers, I most likely won't even do an x99 build.

I'm just going to go ahead and get the 970 FTW and overclock it on water. The 10% difference between the 980 for 60% higher cost, isn't worth it for me.
