I currently own EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC ACX 3GB and I live in the USA. Can I do a Step-Up from my card to GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0? I keep reading the provided Step-Up FAQ, but I got l wanted to confirm a few things. I thought that only reference EVGA cards can be used for Step-Up program, but my card is SC ACX version... - does it quality or not? Then there is the 90-day invoice thing - does it mean my GTX 780 Ti original purchase had to occur within 90 days since 6/23/2014? I purchased mine on 5/11/2014, so that means I don't quality, doesn't it? That really sucks :(.

    Hello MonarchX,

The listing under "What can I Step-Up to?" is the list of the available graphics card you can select to move up to.  As long as your card is a -KR product, you are within the 90 days from the date of purchase and meet the other requirements listed, then it would qualify to Step-Up to a card on the list.  The cards on the list itself are usually the stock reference models that are available only.
The cutoff date as of today is 6/23/2014, which means any purchases made prior to this date are out of the 90 day Step-Up time frame, and would not be eligible for the program. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I think just a flat out yes/no response in regards to these 780ti inquiries would be much easier to follow than just the typical response regarding step-up criteria for people.
Clearly the KR affix is not answering the question for most people.

HI im new to this sight and i cant seem to figure out how to post new topic.

I literally just received a new 780 ti in the mail like 20 min ago. I just realized that the 980 is better and cheaper. Newegg wont rma for an exchange on a new product just a replacement.
Its 03g-p4-2884-kr.  I figure ill take the hit on the extra cost of the 780ti and see if i can step up to a 980. Like i said its new and still in the box plastic and all.

    Hi there,

I am also interested if / when will it be possible to step up from the 780 ti SC (part 03G-P4-2884-KR). When I click on "View Details" for my cards it says "This product is not available for Step-Up", even though they were bought only last month. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks

I purchased the GTX 770 last month, however, under my account, it states that step-up is not available for this product. Do I have to purchase a warranty to qualify? Or is my specific video card not on the qualifying list? If someone from EVGA support could contact me, that would be great. If not, I suppose I will call customer service Monday.

If you didn't register the product within 14 days then yes. There is no reason why the step up wouldn't show up otherwise.

Ok, so it was around 3 weeks, unfortunately. However, I can purchase a warranty and will then qualify, correct?

I believe so. If you read the rules for the step up that should be the case. Please clarify with CS before you purchase anything .

    Owingsj,

It does look like you were able to purchase the Extended Warranty and were able to submit the request for the Step-Up.  Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our 24 hour Technical Support via phone:  888.881.3842 or email: Support@EVGA.com

I'll just reiterate that the GTX 980 SC ACX should be offered to SC and higher 780Ti step up folks.  As it is, said folks paid far higher for those cards than the 980 SC.  Effectively you would be selling them SC card for 50% more money, and it's not like you'd have to ditch the 780ti's right?  A policy is a policy and I do understand.  Please just consider this exception would be fair.  You can keep the ultra editions out of the mix but the basic SC card on the acx wouldn't be a difficult offer to do.

Give it some thought EVGA.  Thanks :)  Not stopping me from recommending you highly over any other vendor.  Keep up the fantastic work, truly.

How does EVGA verify when the product was purchased? Or does EVGA verify when the product was REGISTERED rather than purchased?

When you sign up for the step-up, you will need to upload your receipt.
