I think I found a bug in the geforce experience software. This only happens on my second pc, my main runs fine with it. Both are running Windows 8.1. I posted this on overclock.net and no one had an answer. I need RIVE owners with SLI to test this out and see if this happens to them too. If you haven't, install the geforce experience and enable it.

Then run Heaven or Valley benchmark. Make sure you enable the OSD gpu usage on both card and watch it carefully. I was seeing usage on gpu1 at 80% and usage on gpu2 at 70%. I took off the geforce experience software and my usage jumped back to 98% and 96%. It pretty much made my 780 FTW SLI perform the same as my 670 FTW SLI.  Here's a SS of the difference in performance, and it's a huge performance hit.

Is it possible that any EVGA tech that has any X79 motherboard or a RIVE could test this and see if I'm not the only one affected by it? I have submitted this bug to Nvidia as well.

Thank you for the effort. I have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out why the performance was barely better then my 670 FTW SLI.  I was that close to doing a clean install of Windows 8 again.  Oh I kinda screwed up and erased my old 780 scores on the futuremark website... I forgot I added the links, now it's useless.

One last thing, this isn't a demand or threat or anything. It's more of a, I found a bug and hope to help others avoid my situation. I hope this helps others with performance issues after an upgrade.

While I am not an EVGA Tech I do have 5 X79 Motherboards One being a ASUS Rampage IV Formula X79 MB.
On all 5 X79 Dark / X79 Classified X79 / FTW and X79 SLI and the Rampage IV Formula I never could get a stable Video Driver with Geforce Experience.
    This would include the following CPUs i7-3820 /  i7-3930K / i7-3970X and using 660force-enable-gen3.exe to support PCI-E 3.0 on the X79 Platform.
If you use the 660force-enable-gen3.exe this may be part of the problem then you issue maybe because you are not using it, hard to ever know.
I never tested with my Intel i7-4960X Extreme Edition CPU on my X79 Dark and also this CPU dose not need the 660force-enable-gen3.exe to use PCI-E 3.0. For the most part I do not install the Geforce Experience Software on any of my Rigs.

I did not see or have any issues with Geforce Experience on this platform or the Z77 with i7-3770K or my ASUS Maximus V EXTREME with i7-3770K

I am not sure if it is a bug or may be due to some settings in the Geforce Experience itself with SLI running on the X79 platform. I'll forward this over to our Product Management Team, to see if it is possible to recreate the issues you are having or if there is anything we can do to assist you further.

Just an update, I did get a call from EVGA about this. They said they forwarded this to Nvidia and Nvidia could not replicate this, so it seems to be affect just me. I also wanted to say that all the drivers were the latest from ASus, and I tried 3 different Nvidia drivers. I also upgraded to the latest bios and that didn't help. They all did the same thing with the geforce experience installed, once it was off the pc, it was fine. Like I stated earlier it didn't happen on my main pc, it ran fine with the geforce experience. Thanks EVGA for looking into this!!
