I have been calling for 15 minutes no one is picking up the phone to give me an update why the hell my thermal mod request is still waiting for approval since I have a GTX 1070 FTW which of course is registered. I even tried the so called premium service and still no one picks up the phone. Anyone else tried to contact them?

Evga is shipping the pads as fast as they receive them. Getting them cut to size and getting all 3 pieces together will take a little time. As for them answering, I am not sure. I am not in EU, so I have no idea what times support is available.

    Same exact situation, here.
When did you request them? It seems people are getting their requests approved and shipped according to the date they requested them. I requested them on October 30th.

Maybe with them closing the EU store, they also got rid of the EU support staff?

    Hi Everyone,

We are sorry for any confusion as the thermal pads are shipping out as they do become available to assist our customers.  We appreciate everyone patience while we process these requests and please keep in mind that these pads are optional and in no way required.

    Hi,
I have been trying to get an rma with the pads already installed for my 1070SC and support wouldn't say if I would get it or not.
Yet on the nvidia reddit page, EVGA_Lee said these two excerpts below:

    EVGA_Lee  1 day ago
Cards shipping for retail and RMA on or after 11/1 will contain the extra thermal pads.

    EVGA_Lee • 38 points 16 hours ago
Short answer is that yes, we can 100% guarantee that your cards will be new, have the BS/100% fan fix, Thermal Mod completed, VBIOS flashed, and memory pads properly in place. It may surprise you, but this is already something we are implementing for all cards on our Thermal Mod list, with the exception of the BS/100% fan fix, which only applies to 1080 FTW cards.
Generally, our policy is to replace retail cards within 30 days of purchase with a new card, not a recertified card. Based on the OP, your cards were purchased October 12, which is within 30 days at this point. Logic dictates, but I'll be happy to confirm, that we'll ship you a new card for each of the cards you've mentioned as part of our warranty policy: http://www.evga.com/suppo..arranty/graphics-cards/
GTX 1080 FTWs with the BS/100% fan issue are no longer in circulation. Although only a small percentage of GTX 1080 FTWs had this issue, we've ensured that all cards shipping now no longer use the faulty VRMs, and we have not seen further issues. There may have been one or two cases in Europe where a card with the faulty VRMs still made it into a customer's hands, but those have been replaced, and BS/100% fan issues no longer occur, from what we've seen with replacements. In case you didn't see our earlier statement, please look here: http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2568569
EVGA is not shipping cards at this time if the card is listed on our Thermal Mod page; in other words, all cards listed on the Thermal Mod page shipped after next week will have the additional thermal pads installed and VBIOS flashed. The memory thermal pads will also be inspected at that time, and ensured to make contact with the baseplate and replaced, if necessary.
Bottom-line, if those were your concerns, I'll be happy to assist you with getting the RMAs started.

So, these ARE my concerns and I wish to have the same service as the user EVGA_Lee was responding to. I am not a registered user of reddit so couldn't contact EVGA_Lee directly there.
Why do some EVGA representatives say thermal pads not included and some say they 100% are?

I need to rma but am not confident doing so without a guarantee I receive a cross shipped card with thermal pads installed like EVGA_Lee promises are available after 11/01 which is now!

So who do I believe, what is the actual truth?
I am stuck until I know for sure.

Thank you for response in advance.

Funny how the NVIDIA base design and all other board partners use pads in those places. And now that a major problem has been revealed, they are going to be included on all future EVGA cards being manufactured.

...but remember, they are totally optional.

I think it's ridiculous the world is blowing up over these thermal pads. Turn your fans up. "I don't like noise" well I prefer keeping my card cooler for better ocing and also the fans aren't even that loud at 60%.

    My little rig:
    -144hz 24"
    -Cosmos S modded blue
    -ASUS VIII Hero
    -6700K 4.7GHZ
    -16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000MHZ
    -EVGA 1070 GTX SC

    -Corsair AX860I PSU

Unfortunately you can't cool components with direct airflow anymore, thanks to the design philosophy of putting "cool looking" middle plates between the pcb and the cooler and a backplate on the back. You can spin your fans to 100% all the time, but the middle plate will prevent any direct air flow. That's why it's important that the plate is properly connected to the hot components by a thermal pad. Then the heat goes from component to pad to plate and the plate gets the airflow and the heat gets moved away. No thermal pad or thermal pad too thin? You now have an air gap between hot component and middle plate. In this gap the air heats up but can't move away. That is the worst case scenario. That is exactly why you see pictures of burned cards.

And no, the world isn't blowing up, but in case you haven't noticed: people bought a 400-600 Dollar / Euro graphics cards that is literally burning itself up, because EVGA didn't place a thermal pad that costs a few cents. That justifies a few angry forum posts in my opinion.

I'd like some replacement pads for the RAM too, in case they are not properly connecting to the plate. Which seems to be the case for a lot of people.

Sorry i paid premium for a premium product and what is offered with it and i want it fixed as fast as possible I am having the fans running all the time but that is no solution as i don't feel comfortable stressing my card as is, I get it **** happens but at least we need communication from EVGA. Which just happened so i hope the pads will ship soon.
