So I called tech support to let them know about the issues I was having with x16 5.2.2 and asked how the pixel overclocking works.  The person was not able to help me and then said that any overclocking is not supported.  WHAT!!!???  ok Im confused, the software is there to overclock and monitor, but you don't support overclocking.  Next I asked if there was someone who could explain how the pixel overclocking works because I want to know for general knowledge.  I was told that there is no one that would know.?????

So if vertical sync holds your fps to 60 in my case, how does pixel overclocking allow the monitor to push past 60.  Just curious.

Pixel clock is overclocking your monitors refresh rate. Link.

The tech is correct, we do not directly support overclocking due to all of the variables, and for non EVGA hardware, possible warranty concerns.
But the basic gist is, some models of monitors, primarily some of the Korean 1440p IPS panels allow you to "overclock" your monitor, thus increasing your refresh rate.  This is what Overlord Computer (among others) uses for their higher refresh rate displays.  Like all overclocking your mileage may vary, as the IPS screens are at default, 60hz, I have seen some top out at 75, most will get to the mid 90s, plenty to 110-120, and the handful of holy grail monitors hit 144Hz.  The 144's are VERY few and far between.
But as with all clocking, we cannot officially advise on it.
As for your question about the VSync, the monitor will then detect at 75 or 88 or whatever you have it set at and VSync will lock it to the currently defined max.

How do i test how much Pixel overclocking can my monitor stand? Is there programs for it or just try with little incrediments and see if there are artifacts?
