I'm wanting to know if you guys think I should do a GPU or CPU upgrade first. I'm using an FX8350 over clocked to 4.3GHz on an Asus Sabertooth 990FX with an MSI GTX760. I'm staying at 1080p for a while and this card gives me a constant 60FPS or more at high settings on BF1. If I did my GPU, it would be a 1060 or RX480. If I did my CPU, it'd be either an i7 5820K or 6800K. I might even do a Skylake cpu. However, I wanted to get the X99 Micro from evga. Thanks! I'm happy with the GPU so far, but I figured a cpu upgrade would allow me to edit and render videos faster.

Go for a GTX1070 or pick up a used GTX980Ti for around 300$ with some warranty left one it.
GTX970 I have seen used for 140$ with 2 years warranty left on them.
EVGA cards of course use the guest RMA,

I'd go with CPU. With Kaby Lake now shipping, prices are about to drop on Haswell-E, Broadwell-E as well as Skylake.

A while longer and Nvidia cards will too, with the anticipated launch of AMD's Vega and subsequent Nvidia Ti's. Existing 1080's will be a bargain.

Your CPU speed is above average based on Steam's hardware figures. Your 760 is going to become a bottleneck soon if you're into AAA gaming. I'd vote for a GPU upgrade

A good GPU first, then later invest in a i7 6 core. Or a new AMD 8 core with HT. The newer games are going to start being made to better utilize more than 4C/8T. So a 5820k would be a better deal than the 6800k since it's older you might be able to find it with a good price point. I have the 6800k and wish I would have saved $60 and went with the 5820k as those are known to OC better but the newer 6800k has more even and lower temps due to it's smaller die size compared to my old 3930k (I was able to hit 4.7GHz stable with that oldie!). I only run my 6800k at 4.0GHz as going to 4.4 was just too hot and too much power usage for maybe ~5 more fps. Right now though the 'drag racer' 6700k's and new 7700k's are still a good choice since they have such high clock speeds even without OC'ing. Just my 2cents.

First Intel Processor, Motherboard, RAM and than GPU.
If you want i7-6800K maybe you can find cheaper i7-5930K now.
But for one graphic card even processor with 28 PCI-E lanes will be enough.

Other option is upgrading GPU now and waiting Skylake Xtreme if you could wait mid 2017.
New NVIDIA Pascal will not work so well with AMD.
If you can pay example i7-5820K - X99 Micro 2 - GTX1070 that would be awesome gaming RIG for long time.

The bad part is sales are going on now for the holidays but new stuff is coming out in the next few months.  Micro Center has the 6800K for $328

If you just want to render video fasters a cpu upgrade would be best. I would save up until you can upgrade both and jump up to a better res. Even 1440 is a nice upgrade.

For gaming, even BF1, I'd go GPU first.  Especially as moving to x99 will require DDR4, so there's a bit more added expense.  If you are wanting improvements in more than just gaming, do the CPU/MOBO/MEM upgrade first. 760 is still a solid card.
