I only use Precision. I don't have Afterburner. I'll try playing the game with Precision turned off, and see if it works. I'll let you know.

I went ahead and reinstalled Windows 7 anyway. I still have the same problem. There was a new error message though. It was my firewall blocking the game.

I hope you have only installed the minimum programs that you need after you installed Windows.  The only thing I could find with a google search that makes sence is your audio drivers.  Don't know about that though.  Have you disabled your firewall and bypassed your router just to make sure it isn't either?

Yes, I don't have much installed yet. I did disable my firewall in Windows, and in my router. It didn't solve anything. What I'm going to try next is change the sound settings in the Game. See if that helps. Maybe disable my X-FI too. Just for testing purposes.

I'm sure you googled it , as i did,....  and found out that not only is   "t6sp.exe  "  the executable for Black Ops ,  it is also a Trojan malware program -  So possibly your anti-virus is interacting with it and trying to stop it from running thinking it's the virus ???
 
 What are all the antivirus programs you are using ???

I reinstalled Windows without installing an anti-virus. So that can't be the issue.

TXAA enabled eventually makes the game crash for me. With any other AA the game runs fine.

I don't see a TXAA. All I see is a FXAA, MSAA, and CSAA.

Have you run OC scanner for artifacts? I used to get that message, and several others, when playing BF3 only with a pair of 580's. I ran each one alone and OC scanned them, sure enough one was throwing up artifacts. It wasn't bad, but enough to make BF3 crash on occasion.

UPDATE:
 
I have fixed the problem I was having. After many hours searching Google and talking to Activision's tech support, I have found a fix for my problem. I found the answer through Google. Activision was no help at all.
 
FIX: If I run the game through Steam's "Offline Mode" it will continue to the next level without a problem. Was able to go through 3 more levels so far. I hope this thread helps out anyone else in the future that may have the same problem.

True, and this was one big headache for me. I didn't give up though. I almost did, but kept trying. So many things I tried, and all the time spent trying was draining on me. I kept at it though, and fixing the problem is my reward.

I've heard of older games not being super compatible with Steam, but actually affecting it ingame just seems so strange. Well, at least you figured it out.

I contacted Activision, and let them know I solved my problem. I also suggested to them that a patch should be done to fix that problem. Let's see how they respond to that.

I've heard of older games not being super compatible with Steam, but actually affecting it ingame just seems so strange. Well, at least you figured it out.

I contacted Activision, and let them know I solved my problem. I also suggested to them that a patch should be done to fix that problem. Let's see how they respond to that.

I got an answer for this one...
