Build 14257 has now been pushed out to fast ring Windows Insiders to get their early-adopting mits on it. Fast ring will have to put up with more problems, and 14257 has plenty of them:
If you choose “Reset this PC in the recovery settings, it makes your copy of Windows unusable and must be reinstalled.Sometimes a WSClient.dll error message appears on startup.Front facing cameras are unusable on PCs with Intel RealSense, which also renders Windows Hello inoperable.UI issues sometimes cause Airplane Mode to appear to be enabled even when it isn’t.Although the first issue on that list is potentially the most damaging to your install, the lack of RealSense camera support is problematic for anyone using Windows Hello. Fortunately Microsoft has pledged to release fixes for all of these shortly, most probably in the next build.    Link

I tried this build and it broke too many things to make it viable.

I had apprehensions about updating to the new build, especially since I just got VirtualBox running, and it seems that this build doesn't like it. Last time VBox imploded, I had to use the "reset your PC" option. Apparently, if you try to use the reset option on 14257, it breaks so badly that you need to re-install.

Thanks for the comments. Looks like I'll be waiting a while for the next truly stable build

Everything's been fine on the current 11102 build, aside from Firefox 44 tossing occasional TDR errors.

nevermind, I guess our optimism can now diminish for Windows 10 right? Perhaps it was not such a good idea for independent users to make their own updates for Microsoft..
