I just installed this yesterday into my pc. Precious VC was a EVGA GTX 650.

The new VC Is:
Part Number: 04G-P4-3975-RX
Part Desc: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+

System:
Proc: INtel i5-3570K
OPer Sys: Win 7 professional serv. pack 1 64 bit
Mem: 8 Gb

When I turned on the PC after I installed the new VC, it booted up fine and windows went and found the latest driver. It was over 200mb and took it approx 5 min to install. Everything seemed fine. I played a few games to test it out. The 2nd game (Iracing) I was in and had been in it for 5-10 min. At the race start, it locked up. I had sound and then no video. I had to complete a hard reboot. Since then when windows boots, I get a black screen with several green dots (See photo) with an error message: Problem occurred while loading usersettings.xml. At the bottom of the message, it asked if you would like to restore files to default (Pressing No will quit virtu MVP control panel). Since this, I have tried to de-install virtu mvp but still get the same errors. I did originally select no and it still went to either the blue screen of death or a black or gray screen.

I recently was able to get it to boot up normally and I went and installed the huge driver file I downloaded from EVGA:
359.00-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql.exe

It appeared to install fine, then on reboot during the program it came up with another error (Photo attached): WIndows encoutered a problem installing the driver software for your device NVidia Feforce GTX970. THe required line was not found in the INF.

Typlically after all of this the screen goes GRAY or Black and then stalls. I have to hard reboot (Hold power button in for 5 sec) to get it to shut down and then I restart it and select safe boot with networking.

Thanks for the help. This was a B stock VC I just purchased. I have not installed any software other then the drivers either through windows or EVGA for this VC.

It seems like either the driver download was corrupted or something happened during the install. You should probably download the driver from NVidia: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/95553/en-us  then clean uninstall your current driver and custom install this new driver. ONLY install the GeForce driver and the PhysX driver and that it. Then reboot and see if that helps change anything. Don't rely on windows to do things for you and never auto do anything with your pc unless you want headaches and mysteries down the road. :)

The card is defective. Call/email EVGA tommorow regarding the issue. Their number is 888-881-3847. Refer them to this forum post for the photos and they may try some trouble shooting. But ultimately, if they don't have a solution then they should walk you through the RMA process.

Calling is nice because you can get your RMA nearly completed in 20min instead of days of emails. Plus if it's your first RMA then they will walk you through the process.
