Not sure how that is an unacceptable lapse in security.... A kid just flew from California to Hawaii on a commercial air liner.

I understand it is supposed to be the military watching their aircraft, but... Have you seen the size of the airfields they have to watch over? I don't envy the guards.

Normally during take and landings out of airfields in Africa there is usually one or more guards right next to the aircraft. Unless there has been a change of procedure since I was in the USAF. Secondly, there is always a walk around the aircraft pre-flight before takeoff so the stowaway should have been caught then.

They stated in the article he wouldn't have been found in a normal inspection so idk.

"The body didn't affect the plane's flight, nor was it visible during "standard" inspections before and after flights, he said."

It didn't affect the flight. If it did, there would have been a need for another person on the opposite side wheel well to balance it out, so the plane don't lean to one side.        ;)

LOL, I think they meant he wasn't "compacted" by the hydraulics causing an IFE. could you imagine that? "Tower - bird... We have an IFE.. front landing gear won't close.... "

" bird - tower, RTB time now, runway is clear.."

"tower-bird copies... " bird lands and mechanics find the mess that had occurred. I am betting that the person that found the body is already pretty upset, but at least it doesn't sound too gruesome.

I wonder what people think when they decide to jump in the wheel well and go into a hypoxic coma....

I'm more worried about what else could make it's way on board, if a person made it there.
