(Ok, I've had a lot going on and have been pretty MIA, but I've been wanting to do this for a bit now so I need to just get it out there and get it moving before it's too late!)

Bottom Line:  We need to get our numbers up for [H] will take us in the next 30 days, and it seems that we shine our brightest when there is something up for grabs to work toward, so I am going to throw some prizes on the table over the next few weeks with challenges and milestones that need to be met.

The Deal:  Starting Monday, I will begin to throw folding related challenges out with prizes on the line to win; the challenges will range from team PPD output to things like highest increase in PPD percentage over the span of 3 days, etc.  To pull this off I will need help from you stats folk, and I also would like ideas for challenges so don't hesitate to give ideas.

The Prizes:  I have some laptops listed on The EVGA Call to Arms Challenge site, those will be given out as well as some other items, I have all sorts of items that I am willing to part ways with if it means we are all striving and putting out our best effort.

Participation:  You need to be signed up for The EVGA Call to Arms Challenge and be folding at least 10k PPD average (My challenge my rules - 10k average or better)

The Catch:  You will pay for shipping of the item, I will be giving away hundreds of dollars (possibly more, we'll see) worth of items; I am fortunate to have these items at my disposal to do such, but I do not have hundreds more to throw around for shipping.  We're not talking high cost, it's $10 to ship a laptop via USPS Priority, and if I give away a server or large item it will be local pickup and the challenge will be tailored around such.  I will give the shipping cost of the item with each challenge/prize listing...  I'm sorry I can't make it completely free (I would like to), but I can only afford so much...  So, you end up paying $10 for a laptop, whatever...

Take Away Items for the Reader:  Do what you must to fold 10k a day or more, sign up for The EVGA Call to Arms Challenge, give me ideas for challenge milestones, volunteer to assist if you can help with stats or something that I may not be thinking of, and save your pocket change for shipping money...

That is all, I will post the first item/challenge on Monday so get your machines ready to fold becase (hint) the first challenge will be team PPD based, I will expect to see a bump of a few million, and maybe I'll give a few items out for that as it's a team effort...

Thanks for doing this!  It may give us just the push we need to keep the [H]orde at bay.

What CPU do you have?  Maybe you can do 10k with CPU folding.

    blkhole, you're the best!
Folks, I've already won a laptop from bh and frankly I'm still amazed that he offered it up in the first place, and now to see him offer up many more, is unbelievable. I use mine all time.
I recuse myself from any future laptop gifts from blkhole. Servers? that's a different story.
To assist you blkhole I'll pick up shipping on the the first 4 lappy's.

In EOC it shows your last active folding was in Feb 2012, if you get back into it I'm sure you can come close to or beat 10k a day.

Everyone:  So long as you have a 10k PPD average you're eligable (not everyone can fold 24/7, just do what you can as every bit helps), and I may even do a lower PPD bracket contest at some point (it's just difficult as my criteria will need to change to stop dupe accounts trying to increase odds and folk from other sites loading up one machine in hopes of winning HW and taking it from true EVGA folding members), but remember that the premise of this is for all of us to push our hardest and for our overall output to rise to meet or exceed [H]'s output so do whatever you can to increase output whenever possible!

I have already been signed up for the Challenge and want to remove myself from potential prize claim as well.  I hope to see some great results from your offering and for your prizes to be a real trigger for higher production.  Go get 'em team and it is people like this fellow that make us a great team!!

now that I have replaced my crapped out hard drive I am back folding 24/7, even with the down time I should still be above the 10K PPD requirement. I would also recluse myself from laptop winnings.

    Yo BH,

I'm in. My SR-2 is in limp mode with one cpu but still folding. We are waiting on a warranty replacement for the 2nd. When that cpu comes in, oooohyaaaah. Until then I'll fire up the old I7 920 on an extra mobo from the closet. If needed I may bust out the big guns. Oh no, oh yes THE PS3, lol.

    ps, welcome back

Ok, I have spent an evening in the garage and have 10x prepped laptops of varying specs (all Core2 or better) and a bunch of other random items like a 750w power supply, NIB VisionTek HD4650 1GB VC, NIB Seagate 1TB SATA3 HDD, NIB 32GB USB Sticks, and some other surprise items.

I'll be posting the first large challenge tonight (it will take a few days to conquer that one I'm sure) and will also begin posting smaller milestone challenges tomorrow and through the week.

My suggestion is to get to folding now...

Sweet, these 80** projects reduce my PPD by alot though D:

Same. And they're kind of slow.

I'm only getting in 1 WU a day. I've only got one 450 GPU in, computer BSODs if the other 450 is in. I'm folding away anyway though I don't make enough for this challenge of BlkHole's, http://folding.extremeove...ry.php?s=&u=557295 but that's okay.
I also decline from any winnings, not getting enough PPD aside.

    Fold on!

Side note, Madrias would probably like this challange .
Sad Shy though, I haven't heard from him in over a week.

Shy - What exactly is wrong with the machine?  Sounds like to motherboard is unhappy or something?  What are the specs on your current setup?  If I have a mobo that fits your CPU I can send it your way.  It may end up being an HP or Dell mobo w/ no OC options, but it wouldn't BSOD.

I signed up, but I was already in for the long haul even without a contest.
As for the laptops I'll pass those on to someone that can use them more so than me.
    I do have a T7200 folding & it makes avg. 900 PPD & I see a T7200 up for grabs.
I can help who ever gets that one as I found a program to lower the core voltage & still
be stable with much better temperatures.
Now if any 1366 CPU are prizes I'm in for those as I could use 2x right now to better the cause of keeping H off of us.
Good luck everyone, lets keep this 1st place.

Depending onthe mobo/chipset your laptop has you can BSEL mod it from 2.0 to 2.4Ghz...

I got just short of ~2k w/ Ubuntu, but more most folk these will just hopefully be browser machines to keep their folding machines folding.

    I do have a T7200 folding & it makes avg. 900 PPD & I see a T7200 up for grabs.

Depending on the mobo/chipset your laptop has you can BSEL mod it from 2.0 to 2.4Ghz...

I got just short of ~2k w/ Ubuntu, but more most folk these will just hopefully be browser machines to keep their folding machines folding.

I'd like a link to that mod. 2.4 sounds good.
Well its a Toshiba P100 w/ i945PM chipset & I was wrong on the PPD output.
It had just started a new WU & gave some low PPD count its actually 1700 PPD with these A4 WU's.

Yea these are like 9hr wu's on my 560Ti reducing my PPD to like 13k D: used to be like 20k at least.

Yeah though they're slow I prefer them to the 76xx WUs I was getting, they lag or lock my computer up to a stop so I have to stop folding when I get them.

BlkholeShy - What exactly is wrong with the machine?  Sounds like to motherboard is unhappy or something?  What are the specs on your current setup?  If I have a mobo that fits your CPU I can send it your way.  It may end up being an HP or Dell mobo w/ no OC options, but it wouldn't BSOD.

Yes it is a problem motherboard. Thank you for the offer , I'll PM you... (YGPM after I've posted).

Yeah, I would get between 1.5 to 2.5k on the high end; but average was ~2k...  Still nothing great, it's a browse/light gaming unit for sure.

Your chipset is a Socket M based which I haven't had the pleasure to mod on, I know that on Socket P mobo's w/ that chip you can press to 2.4ghz. easily (and in most cases so long as the RAM took the OC the chip didn't care and temps barely rose even with the EIST function disabled and set for max speed)...

If you're the adventurous type you can explore down this thread:   http://forum.notebookreview.com/hardware-components-aftermarket-upgrades/308276-anyone-know-working-pin-mod-guide-socket-m-meroms-2.html

According to the whitepaper the chipset doesn't support those FSB's, but I've tried stranger theories and had them work; although I've also created smoke bombs as well so take it with a grain of salt...  If you give it a try let me know.
