Hi folks.  I recently received an RMA'd EVGA GTX 1080 FTW to replace my original early model that had the black screen and 100% fan issue.  I requested the thermal mods be done to the new card, and I believe it was done, from what I could see.  The replacement card has NOT had the BSF issue as before, BUT it does go to a black screen for about 3 seconds before it recovers and resumes normal gameplay, and has (only once) frozen my pc.  So far, all I have played is Guild Wars 2, but I will try other games soon to test.  Crysis made the original card crash after a few minutes of play, and I had to underclock the memory by -200 on the original to keep GW2 from crashing. 
This issue happens with and without PrecisionXOC running, and clock speeds haven't been touched.  I've tried two drivers, including the latest version.  I'm using two monitors, the main is connected to a GSYNC monitor via display port, and the secondary via DVI, and both monitors act the same way when it happens.  I get no error messages, and no log in "who crashed".
As with the original card, 3 separate benchmark programs never had an issue, it only happens in games.
My RMA'd card appeared to be brand new, even though I am out of the three month original purchase date:  new sealed box, all papers and wiring inside.  Curious if it is indeed new.  All I took was the card and sent back everything else.
 
I'm not going to condemn the card just yet, and will try a few things if you have any suggestions.  EVGA's RMA assistance has been great, this being my first time having an EVGA card issue.
