So i decided since my wifes pc is slower than moses on reboot id update her bios. Well, thats not working too well. Ive followed the bios update via usb drive in the x58 thread and downloaded the proper bios from nvidia for the 790i ultra and when it gets to the bios flash screen it just says the following

For 132-CK-NF79-6a61mb02c-00 Date  12/12/2008
Flash Type -
File Name to Program : bios.bin
The program file's part number does not match with your system!

Now ive 100% double and triple checked that i downloaded the correct bios for the correct motherboard. I followed this thread and just switched out the bios used in this thread to the one for the motherboard im trying to update.

Alienware use EVGA boards in some of their builds, other MB brands as well. Usually if it throws an error like that that means it is a MB that someone else put a custom BIOS on like Alienware. Only difference in BIOS versions is usually when it boots up it shows that company's logo.
This a PC you built with a MB you bought brand new?
you trying to use one of these BIOS.

I recommend using the following method to perform a BIOS Update on the 790i.

Please use this program, ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
to burn the BIOS .iso file to a CD. The installed default settings are good, you just want to set the burn speed to the slowest setting available. Here's the link to the BIOS image file if, you don't already have it downloaded: http://cdn.evga.com/bios/NF79_P10.iso

Before you boot to the disk to run the update....go into the BIOS and load the defaults > save and exit. When the update is done, you will see a message saying that it was successful. After you reboot from that, you will need to go into the new BIOS and apply your preferred settings. EDIT: Make sure that you set the correct date and time the first time in the BIOS.
