Normally F8 is the key "was for 680i and 780i ftw" not on this for safe mode tells me to reboot and select device?

F12 will not enter it nor will 8,9,10,11

I was on 7 in legacy mode hit F10 took me to command line edit boot options?

Now I'm on Win 8.1 Pro should not matter but all of the above gave me same response.

Trying to fix a event log driver error that is comon in 8 MS never fixed bc they want everyone running win10 which they will never achieve shooting for 1billion but only 100million runs it when they give it away because the keyloggers spy crap on it.

F2 for this board is the BIO's key

That is all I can gather I need to boot to safe mode any help appreciated thanks.

I would call tech support but trying to be more active in forums :)

and the common error when you search every where says run in safe sfc /scannow

This is the problem driver - The driver \Driver\WudfRd              failed to load etc. this and that in system event logs

If you're able to restart from Windows hold down the shift key before the BIOs starts. Then see if you get a startup menu which contains the option for safe mode.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Well after hours of hunting for z170 evga bio's to enter lol I had a epiphany from looking into Win8 upgrade about a year ago on all the issues. I remembered a post saying go to shut down button / click / HOLD SHIFT and restart to enter boot it worked fine existing on the other hand was awkward was not sure how to exit I was in command prompt mode ran chkdsk and sfc /scannow then hit exit + enter it closed the box left me sitting on a black screen no way to exit had to clear cmos and booted to windows and my account was locked by win8 wtc lol.

I think I will take note of your method Thanks a lot.

At least it is now noted here in forums for others, this is not a motherboard issue this is a stupid issue MS never fixed when they went to working on 10 from what I am seeing now.
