I was just going to do a fresh install but then I remembered that I didn't buy Windows 10 and upgraded from Windows 8. So Im not sure if I even can do a clean install of windows 10...

If you are reinstalling on the same hardware a clean install should work just fine.

I use BitDefender Free edition. They consistently rank among the highest in detection rates and it uses very little resources compared to some others. Never been nagged or even gotten a marketing email from them.

Bitdefender user here, by far the best one I've used, but I'm a paid user and no issues for like 5+ years.
+1 "uses very little resources"

I actually tried and uninstalled the following...
AVG, Avast, Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Norton and ESET

| EVGA Z68 FTW | EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC 3GB | EVGA GTX 560 Ti Maximum Edition | Custom EK Water Loop | Red Harbinger Cross Desk
| i7 2600K @ 4.5GHz @ 1.24v | Corsair 16GB Vengeance | Corsair Neutron 256GB SSD | Corsair AX850 | Lamptron FC5V3 | ASUS VE278 27" |
| Creative Inspire T6160 5.1 & X-Fi Fatal1ty 7.1 Champ | Razer Marauder & Spectre & Tiamat 7.1 | Affiliate Code: 3MHCIBME48 |
